Over The Years Cardiff Entertainment

Recommended Posts

Been trying to remember the Cardiff Entertainment since it started as I haven't missed one. With next year being the 10th Birthday then it's 9 main acts to remember, ignoring the interval bits which from memory have included Tony Christie, Chas N Dave and Javine I think?

Anyone with a good memory feel free to chip in ;)

Here's my stab at it

2001 Edwyn Star

2002 Suzie Quattro

2003 Blues Brothers

2004 Tony Hadley

2005 Abba Tribute

2006 Bonnie Tyler

2007 X Factor - Brenda, Ray etc

2008 Berlinda Carsile

2009 Queen Tribute

Any forecasts for next year my guess is Jason Donovan :)

Well my vote would have to be the one and only STATUS QUO , they ripped up glasto festival last week even with there midday slot got the party rockin .

They have a nice 1 hr set they use for the racecourse gigs they do around the country so gets the party started in style and they can play live as well :)

When did Tony Christie make an appearance? 2007??

2002 Suzie Quattro

2003 Blues Brothers

This was the correct way round....

I think Belinda Carlisle was best so far, agree that they need someone special for 10th year, real top name, announce it 2-3 weeks in advance and I'm sure they'll sell a couple more thousand tickets which in turn would pay for the better entertainment....

How about Stereophonics, get lots of Welsh going (is that a good thing??)

Have to say that my favorite was Tony Hadley!

I loved Spandau Ballet and he has such a strong and powerful voice!

I agree. I dont remember Spandau Ballet first time round, probably because i wasnt alive  , but he has been the best so far by a long way

Would hope that for next years 10th Anniversary they will get someone big for the event though!

Spandau Ballet are reforming to tour, so you never know .....

Would have been nice if she was singing live though ..... It was quite comical when she missed her cue and forgot to start miming.

That was pretty funny

I think that the entertainment should be someone like Lostprophets etc :)

Tom Jones, he should help fill the Stadium!! Failing that Shirley Bassey!! Wouldnt get in the Speedway for the Local,s come on BSG you know it would work. Or could we go for the Manic Street Preachers, now they would bring an audience of brand new young fans aho had never seen speedway and the Millenium would be a sell out.

I think they should book a big name act but only release the name of the artist on the local radio stations on the day I would say if could get Stereophonics or Tom Jones you could add 20,000 on the gate i remember when Radio 1 arranged a secret gig in Leeds with Oasis only announced the location and artist on the day and tehy had 25,000 turn up
