stemoc
Just truth. As for no home track advantage. Why has Doolan been going in on a Friday to do the track prep? Answer; he hasnt been happy with the place for long enough So they let him prepare it exactly how he wants it. EDIT as for it being what you expected. Thats a total lie. what people expect was for me to come on singing the praises of Fish. To shout down any bad decision against Edinburgh etc. So really if you stopped lying you would notice its not what you expected. Silly Boy? the only silly boy around here are the ones who say that Worky would have won it on any track. We know that is complete pish. As i say put it at Armadale and you could guarentee the winner before the first heat. Agreed put it at Armadale and there would be only one winner and it wouldn't be speedway, we all know that’s how the monarchs won the league, trick track advantage and cheating by using RR for the invisible man, tell us something we don't know, as Captain Mannering would say "You stupid Boy"
seedef27
Sour grapes on here.....yes workington did have an advantage but ther quality of the riders on show was good, Magnus Karlson, max last time, fisher max last time, topinka always good, the list goes on. My point is comets were favourites but it had to be won in a strong field. As for moving the 4's, these meetings get allocated at the start of the year, but the teams which compete are only decided about a month before, to late to have another PL track organise a big meeting like this. Peterbourgh may have been home of the 4's for a long time however, do they want the 4's now?????? Was really looking forward to seeing KL only for Ward to be injured. They also did not get off to a great start with Kozza touching tapes then Jan's EF when tapes had been lifted but TT remained unbeaten through out I must say although Comets have home track advantage they still have to make do with the unusual once a year situation of a 'we'd love to see you get beat' reception Now if your top 4 were ever going to have an off night as it wasn't last night next Saturday will do

Hope he is fit to face us Saturday he is very entertaining to watch
Dali
What was with the helicopter delivering the start birds onto the centre green? It was cringey last year and it was cringey this year... Maybe they need to spend that money on sorting out a decent racing track?!
jenga
...... and it didn't disappoint Pretty rubbish meeting in my opinion ..... the final had ONE pass I remember during the whole twelve heats ..... One or two entertaining riders including Ryan Fisher, Steve Johnston and Robert Mear in the last qualifying heat. Rye deserved nothing, being the only one of the eight teams who didn't win a single heat!! I'm not going into the home advantage debate, that's been done to death and will sound like sour grapes, the Rockets wouldn't have won it on any track except our own anyway..... Seems pretty obvious that when a home team has one of the biggest advantages in ANY sport that neutral tracks are the answer. I was warned that the back straight at Worky had a reputation, but it turned out do be ten or twelve beered up young lads singing a few songs, pretty sad lot really ..... My theory that because they have no decent football teams to support they use the speedway as a Saturday evening excuse to let off steam ..... My guess is you'll NEVER see them at an away meeting ..... I was told they were much quieter this time, may have been something to do with them being surrounded by Monarchs fans ....cowards just got to ask the question..who was beered up. you or the worky fans, because by my maths there were 14 passes in the two semi finals(16 heats) and 8 passes in the final (12 heats) to cement this case, see the speedway updates and count them. there were also many races that were very close (clews etc) i do remember worky winning the fours at p/borough. think thats classed as an away track and the pairs at newport/somerset. how do you know the worky fans were quiet ? in one breath you say there were 10 to 12 lads and in the next breath .you were TOLD that it must have been something to do with the e/borough fans surrounding them... now we know just where to real cowboys are. were you really there or are you in an induced coma ? DEFEAT IS HARD TO TAKE FOR SOME PEOPLE.......

flat stick
maybe they should run the fours at newcastle i wonder if worky would have won if it had been held there.

wjm
"hollow victory" was a word used and that sums up what this was for Workington perfectly. They only stood to lose from this and anything short of taking the "title" would have been a disaster for them. Garbage.

And is Ricky Ashworth a disaster if he doesnt win the PLRC? Please reply with your answer as id love to hear it, .It gets better just got to ask the question..who was beered up. you or the worky fans, because by my maths there were 14 passes in the two semi finals(16 heats) and 8 passes in the final (12 heats) to cement this case, see the speedway updates and count them. there were also many races that were very close (clews etc) i do remember worky winning the fours at p/borough. think thats classed as an away track and the pairs at newport/somerset. how do you know the worky fans were quiet ? in one breath you say there were 10 to 12 lads and in the next breath .you were TOLD that it must have been something to do with the e/borough fans surrounding them... now we know just where to real cowboys are. were you really there or are you in an induced coma ? Najjer
Maybe they need to spend that money on sorting out a decent racing track?! Precisely why the Pairs is so successful at Somerset, with every fan leaving the stadium after knowing they have seen a great meeting regardless. The Pairs is always an open event with anyone able to win - who'd have thought Birmingham would of disposed of Kings Lynn and Somerset after the starts both those teams made that night? As previously said, get The Fours back to Peterborough which is a race track and not a gaters paradise not Workington. I didn't travel up this weekend partly because of cost after the Scottish Tour last week, but due to it being a borefest on the standard of racing front. Was it a disaster for Somerset when they failed to win the pairs? And is Ricky Ashworth a disaster if he doesnt win the PLRC? Please reply with your answer as id love to hear it, .It gets better You just don't get it do you? You still try and continue to defend the undefendable. Major Facepalm Stoney. wjm
You just don't get it do you? You still try and continue to defend the undefendable. They are still there to be beat. The problem with it IMO, is the number of times it has been held at Workington. Catch 22 though, no one wants it because it is a dying event. It is a dying event because of the number of times it has been at Workington.
crikeythatsfast
It's not about defeat with me or finding it hard to take, in fact most, including myself have congratulated Worky on winning. I'm adult enough to say well done to whichever team wins. I don't blame you Worky fans for trying to defend your track etc, I would do the same if it was at KL. I wouldn't want it at KL because of the problems you've been having on here, fans saying home track advantage, yadda, yadda, yadda. We get that most weeks from visiting fans. You just have to get used to it. I still stick by my thoughts that all of these competitions should be held at neutral tracks, then the home track advantage card can not be played, it's a level playing field and the best team will win whoever that should be. paul84
Somerset didnt win the pairs at home because they were NOT good enough. Workington won the fours at Derwent park because they were good enough. SO i ask, was with reference to the previous post was this a "disaster" for Somerset! yes NAjjer your correct i just dont get it.
Pinny
According to Tim Stone, the 4tt qualifiers were a pain in the backside to organize, hence why they are not around anymore. I agree though, they were brilliant. Big crowds at each venue, with the teams that actually made the final deserving their place there. Remember the days of when it was Sunday at Newport, Exeter Monday, Isle of WIght Tuesday, Arena Essex Friday, Reading Monday. Good times Each qualifier was like the final itself. I would hope this would be reintroduced for 2010, certainly would please alot of us Premier Fans.
