baz brush
It is very silly Sandie & now we will probably have to try to re-order the coach booking, far from playground stuff this was a matter of principal.Like i said Bob reaped the seeds with his rant. I'm sure the organiser will be happy to run the coach now the readies won't be stuffed in his back pocket. I'm glad that commonsense has prevailed to be honest, such a shame old bobby boy had to mess things about ,AGAIN. Colin we all get it ... you have a grudge with Bob for your own reasons ( reasons that some see and others see as just plain childish ). You don't need to keep going on about it. At least them fans that you were making the decision for that they wouldn't be able to see the meeting will now be able to courtesy of sky. baz brush
Common sense ....... to deprive yourself of seeing your team because you dont listen to what was said and put your own spin on it ....... Dont make me laugh. Bob said quite clearly he had no problems with any of the riders or supporters but his gripe was with the management because they had gone against the plan that was agreed by all promoters to lower the costs of running and promoting speedway this season due to the hard times everybody is facing. Bob has his faults (I and everybody knows that) but on this occasion he was right in my honest opinion. Not only did he get to say what he felt but he got the crowd going. If you think that Bob was wrong for the points he made then maybe you should speak to some of the other promoters to find out what was said at the agm and without your coventry glasses on see if you think they had gone against what was agreed. I wasn't there so can't comment on what Bob Dugard said as I've only heard second hand, but I still don't understand what his gripe is. Presumably signing Scott Nicholls for 28 days? What were the Bees management supposed to do with 2 riders out with broken legs? They had got to make up a team somehow. What alternative was Bob suggesting they did so it was in agreement with the AGM? Sign a couple of cheap 3 pointers?
whitbyman
How great that last week the El pairs was postponed at Eastbourne and is now back on at the same track and on the same date after I've cancelled my leave (added it to Polish GP date in Oct) cancelled my hotel in Eastbourne and got a refund on my train tickets, so just how did this fiasco come about? We usually support shared events but after this not anymore, a complete waste of my time and effort, well done to Mr Dugard the BSPA (not sure what the p is for as it sure ain't promoter) and anyone else involved. It would appear after reading the threads by the good(long suffering) people on here it was all posturing and politics between Dugard and the BSPa so well done to you all, another two fans money your not getting again, any other business run in this manner would have gone bust years ago but speedway fans are nothing if not enduring( 35 years from the Shay to Redcar and all stops in between) so I've seen plenty in my time but this was the straw so to speak. I am left wondering when the only speedway meeting run in the UK will be the GP at Cardiff, my money is on by 2015, any advance?

Now i could be wrong but from what i've read sounds like that Bob thinks coventry are already a strong team so they shouldn't be allowed to strenghen up even further by having another heatleader. As i say i could be wrong but thats the conclusion i came too.
Hackett
One of the few meetings I was going to make the effort to see at Arlington and once cancelled i have booked a holiday !! Oh well .... I will watch the Sky meeting which is Eagles vs Coventry on the tv.
Silver Bee
One of Bob's main issues in the rant was that promoters had agreed to keep costs down and Coventry were going against that by signing Nicholls who he believed to be costing us 'X' thousands of pounds. Gemini
So I hope he is going to have the same rant when Swindon and Poole go there as I doubt if Andersen and Zagar come cheap.

Ah, but he has already said he doesn't mind poole strengthening up, as we are bottom!! Though i agree about andersen and zagar not being cheap, but they also get more people through the gate so........ colincooke
Let's be honest Mr Dugard is just blithering old fool. He may have said that but it didn't stop him spouting it in front of them did it BB , for the record i know alot of them we're angered by it & agreed with the stance, yet that you seem to ignore my freind. In any case all is well now & all are happy up this way. At least most anyway.
Halifaxtiger
I had an example of this last season when I booked time off to watch Mildenhall on the Isle of Wight. Difference was I got a very fair explanation from Main Man as to why it happened and it wasn't reinstated. Completely understand your frustration. Another galling aspect is that the bspa fixtures for August now show the meeting is Eastboournes 80th anniversary and not the Coventry meeting, me suspects a fast one here from mr dugard but anyway as previously said it's his loss and even more so is my southern tour every season will not any longer include Eastbourne..... Cheers for taking time to reply / comment
Chivs
I thought cancelling the coach was a bit daft to be fair....just cos the promoter of the track says a few words, why should it stop you going to support your team? I am guessing that everyone who is now going down for the pairs has agreed that they shouldn't buy drinks/food in the stadium...as that would be lining Bob's pockets!!!! Plus it's double whammy now....get to see the Pairs and then watch the Bees on Tv

Having been at the meeting I have to say it gave me a very uncomfortable feeling and one I wouldn't like to have again. If I was an Eastbourne fan I would have felt just as uncomfortable having visiting fans management insulted in public. Qualifying what he said by saying he had nothing against the fans simply wasn't good enough. Washing your dirty linen in public is not the way to go. Politics should be sorted behind closed doors and the fans should be left to enjoy the entertainment we have paid for.
woofers
You would of been dissapointed, Instead u would of seen - Belle Vue - Gjedde, Risager Coventry - Kennett , Allen Eastbourne - Bridger , Woodward Ipswich - Batchelor , King Lakeside - Shields , Davidsson Peterborough - Iversen, Bager Poole - Screen, Davidsson Swindon - Adams, McGowan Wolves - Lindgren , Klindt As most of the 'bigger' riders deide to give it a miss!! 50% correct !, announced at Arlington last night as : Belle Vue - Kasperzak, Risager Coventry - Harris, Kennett Eastbourne - Watt, Bridger Ipswich - Nicholls, King Lakeside - Richardson, Davidsson Peterborough - Bjerre, Iversen Poole - Anderson, Holder Swindon - Adams, Zagar Wolves - Karlsson, Lindgren £20 admission, ( Eastie season ticket holders pay £5 ) £15 concessions. Programmes £3. Should be some excellent racing, more than 20 heats, and from what I've seen this year should be between Poole, Swindon and Wolves. I'm not writing off Watt and Bridger, they should make the semi's, but Lewis has a habit of over riding the big occasions and there will be pressure on him following the events of the last week or so.
