lucifer sam
Was really looking forward to this meeting but following the demise of Zagar, Pedersen, Schlein and Lindback I am not sure whether I will bother now, as SCB has already stated all 4 would have been in with a great chance of qualifying at Brandon . And why did these riders have a divine right to be at Brandon? They didn't quality - 16 other riders did. Simple as that. It's about the time the same happened to the GP, with no seeded riders. Would stop the dull closed shop. The Russian have stirred things up to a certain extent, but otherwise it's the same old same old in the GP. All the best Rob
pirateandi
Whose going to pay 25 quid to see that bunch. I will too should be a cracker of a meeting with the chance of grand prix racing next year all riders will be desperate to qualify , silly comment to be honest , forever!!!! pirateandi
It`s someting to ponder on , what if by the time this meeting comes around freddie is a cert for a top 8 finish dosen`t it seem a little unfair even though he probably deservers to ride at coventry that someone could`ve had the opportunity to ride alas making this a 15 man field rather than a 16 man field in theory?????? Jenn
Maybe there will be a tactical cold for Freddie if he is already a cert for next years series and Lindback will get in??
MARK246
Maybe there will be a tactical cold for Freddie if he is already a cert for next years series and Lindback will get in?? T. Kroner should be his replacement as Lindback was at the Motala semi not Daugavpils
marcel
Why sadly? Wouldnt you LOVE to see the Zorro in the gps? no because he would be like the drymls or karlssons and do all the hard work and get there by riding well then do absolute nothing in each round

All the best Rob I find it hard to agree with you Rob, you know that, but your first line is spot on. This divine right to be anywhere should be taken away from them all except the defending world champion. Is it not feasible to get all the qualifiers out of the way by the end of May and then run the GP's every other week thereafter?
Beeone
Perhaps its finally sinking in with some peple that Bjarne hasn't been manipulating his average at all this season and has dropped by a two point standard. He has never got close to the form of recent seasons this year and being dumped out of the semi final was totally predictable. A shame that Lindback and Zagar went the same way though. Write off Adrian Meidzinski at your peril. The lad has come on leaps and bounds and could easily qualify over soeone like Holder who has never really mastered the Brandon track. Harris ( extremely unfortunately, doesn't deserve a berth) and Lindgren are nailed on. If walasek has his gating boots on he could easily make it, as could Bjerre. It's called qualification for a reason dopey! So if you qualify you deserve the place Edited July 5, 2009 by Beeone
Chivs
At least with a line-up minus true world class, should mean a chance of riders all beating each other....could be one of those meetings where 11 or 12 points wins it. Could actually turn out to be a cracker
Adam 74
And why did these riders have a divine right to be at Brandon? They didn't quality - 16 other riders did. Simple as that. Thats spot on... Some people do talk some crap on here. Zagar and Co didn't get through the qualifiers, the others did, so they are the ones that deserve to be there, however good or bad they go at Coventry. Come on Pavlic. Gutted Seba had to pull out, get well soon mate.
psymon
I must admit I'm sorry Rory wont be riding, as round Brandon he's been really good this season. I think Bomber will do well (obviously), but I think Smoli will be a real dark horse for this meeting. I can see him picking up a shock gp place because if he has a good day he can beat just about anybody. SMOLI FOR CARDIFF
Pollyanna
So if you qualify you deserve the place I have to agree. Harris qualified to be in this by right.
HenryW
Is it not feasible to get all the qualifiers out of the way by the end of May and then run the GP's every other week thereafter? It would be incredibly tough to schedule all the matches in that space of time. The leagues would be struggling to get a day to run if you tried to do that. Possibly just as importantly, the riders who ended up contesting the GP series wouldn't have any time to prepare. Without knowing for sure that they had a GP place, it would be a much tougher sell to some sponsors!

I think we should be urging for gp riders to be in the qualifiers as much as we can rather than worrying about riders who havent beat them however all that said....... I wouldnt be suprised if we see Freddie, or Ken drop out due to being assured of being given a permanent WC if they dont finish in the top 8 I must admit I'm sorry Rory wont be riding, as round Brandon he's been really good this season. I can see him picking up a shock gp place because if he has a good day he can beat just about anybody. SMOLI FOR CARDIFF I just cant see how this would be good for the rider or the competition....... what Emil has achieved has come with a price tag and some people somewhere are paying highly for it.......... with the greatest of respect I would have thought it is extremely unlikely that Smoli would keep his head above water in the GP's without some major support....... and that would no doubt make a major dent somewhere in his confidence
iris123
however all that said....... I wouldnt be suprised if we see Freddie, or Ken drop out due to being assured of being given a permanent WC if they dont finish in the top 8 Well 2007 at Vojens there were strong rumours that both Freddie and Kasprzak had been given a WC before the meeting, and that is how it seemed to a lot of fans who i spoke to as they couldn't understand the lacklustre performances otherwise.........but both rode in the meeting
Bagpuss
Had planned to go to this and would still like to, but not at that price....will cost fifty sheets for the two of us just to get in. Crazy.
