zonkers
Well, I was at the millenium Stadium on Saturday, and Wembley Stadium last night, and i just hope to God they keep the GP at Cardiff. I found the stewards at Cardiff to be much more amenable, friendly and accomodating. The ones at wembley were just jobsworths tbh ! As for the stadium itself - I much prefer Cardiff with good views from every angle. I felt at Cardiff that if you needed to get out quickly, this would be much simpler than Wembley, where it felt much more closed in. Queues for toilets were ridiculous - have never experienced toilet queues at Cardiff. And the final straw was the car park. Left Wembley stadium last night at 10.30pm and finally left the car park at 0045 !! 2 hours 15 minutes of sitting in a car park ! People were getting irate, the police came but said they couldn't do anything such as open more exits as it was "down to the Wembley Stadium management." In the end people were removing barriers themselves ! And then the jobsworth stewards were returning and putting cones back ! We went back to the building to see if we could go back in to use the toilets in the stadium but were told no ! It was just a joke. ! The roof at wembley is only partial too, and the sun was quite unbearable sitting in our seats - and I am a sun lover! Also made it impossible to see the stage with the sun in your eyes. So, Millenium Stadium everytime for me - a much more pleasurable and relaxing environment altogether ! What does anyone else think?
Concrete Cowboy
To be honest, apart from the lack of roof and parking, i would honestly disagree with every part of your post Well, I was at the millenium Stadium on Saturday, and Wembley Stadium last night, and i just hope to God they keep the GP at Cardiff. dave69
Wembley is a shambles Even the football supporters wished the FA cup stayed in Cardiff.
iris123
Wembley for me every time.I don't think big meetings like GP's should be held in speedway backwaters like Wales and Latvia.......

iris123
Probably,no doubt Humphrey will able to confirm that later Then AndyM will argue about that.Bryn will call it god's country(well he was still posting ) and Norbold will argue the toss about god, whether he exists and if he does whether he has a country Still as a Welsh person....when you travel abroad on holiday do foreigners even know what or where Wales is? tone deaf
Cardiff anyday. Although I live in Ipswich I found the Millennium easier to get to than Wembley the one time I attempted it. Also nothing to do around Wembley whereas you can make a day of it in Cardiff.

Tsunami
Expect Parsloes up any minute to deny the bad Wembley experience and blame the whole thing on non Cockney's. Cardiff for ever.
FakenhamStar
i think theres a case for both venues...wembley, who doesnt want to go to wembley?? ask any1 in the world to name 1 stadium, i reckon wembley would be 85% of peoples choice, whatever sport you play/follow, you would never pass up the oppurtunity to do what you love there?? The riders would surely love it? Plus, bringing the gp to london would surely bolster the 45,000 crowd, i reckun u'd get nearer 55-60,000...?? (maybe optomistic, but with heathrow/gatwick/luton/stansted, maybe u'd get a bigger following from abroad?? plus train links etc etc...) As for cardiff, i felt the stadium was a bit run down, (mucky floors, crap pa system) for a relativly new stadium...However, as a venue, its ideally placed for those wanting to make a weekend/week (ask bagpuss!) out of the event, plus the stadium is located centrely in cardiff, allowing you to make more of a day of it when you get there... I'd prefer wembley, but as a football fan, maybe im biased....?
Snyper1010
Why does Wembley have to be mentioned? The GP is perfectly fine where it is. Now Iris according to the flags and program etc the 3 homes riders are "british" meaning Wales is in "britain" meaning its no more of a speedway backwater than London in "britain" Cardiff does a fantastic job of hosting the GP. Plus the Pairs in Somerset the night before then the Welsh Open. What would we do for a weekend of speedway in London? Rye House, ha no thanks. Cardiff 100%

zonkers
who doesnt want to go to wembley?? Plenty of people I should think..... And anyway - who doesn't want to go to the Millenium Stadium? Yes, the floors are sticky from years worth of beer (and worse) on them - but Wembley will be the same in a few years time..... There is just something special about the Millenium stadium too - makes you feel "wow" when you look at it. I didn't get that at Wembley. And I stated earlier the whole getting there/seat views/atmosphere/safety/spaciousness/relaxing environment etc makes Cardiff a clear winner. I don't like football or rugby, but if someone invited me to go to Cardiff to watch a match I think I could be persuaded. But Wembley.... no way ! After we came out we actually went to Cardiff Bay and ate in a lovely Italian restaurant overlooking the bay.
