Seb the Snail
Harris, Kennett, Woffinden, King, Bridger. We're not going to win the damn thing, but we could at least try.
Steve Shovlar
Well the team has been announced and the new Team GB manager has made the first howler, including Danny King over Lee Richardson. Nicolls I agree should not be in, but come on, King over Richardson, who is showing good form? Rubbish choice IMO.
Guest Ashie Smashy
Harris, Kennett, Woffinden, King, Bridger. We're not going to win the damn thing, but we could at least try. I wondered how long before someone started moaning. Had he stuck the pram toy thrower or Richardson in then people would moan he is not giving the kids a chance. People moan that there are no British riders coming through the ranks, but maybe this is what we need to do NOW to ensure we can be really competitive in 2/3 seasons. Richardson is currently our best rider. The guy doesn't have a clue.

If there isn't an underlying reason why Rico hasn't been selected then this is a joke decision from a comedy manager.

SO i think King is as good as Kennett if not better. Especially on proper dpeedwaytracks. Edited June 29, 2009 by Ghostwalker
Guest Ashie Smashy
The guy doesn't have a clue. I see the same said about your opinions on a daily basis Richardson as had plenty of chances, and on the big occasions he fails.
Jacques
You can understand why Scott wasn't included but no Rico?

Richardson has been Team GB's best rider over the last few seasons. You are not Rob Lyon is disguise are you?
Guest Ashie Smashy
And before you people start calling him a 'joke manager', we are already disagreeing over who should be in the squad, so whoever he had picked, 20 'armchair experts' on here would say someone else should have been picked. Seb the Snail
Richardson as had plenty of chances, and on the big occasions he fails. Richardson has the best record in the World Cup of any British rider. Bar none. Oh, and he's the top Brit across Europe and was the highest scoring rider in the British Final. Nazza
Why is Rico nor involved If we are going to give the young guys a go then we may as well have stuck James Wright in for Bomber Totally clueless manager
Dekker
Probably the best decision atm, clean break with the past, i would even say Harris is on borrowed time, he like Nicholls cant gate at the top level.

Agreed, in the world cup he's been GB's best rider more often than not Harris Kennett Richardson Woffinden Bridger Would have been my pick, not thats it worth anything
CMV06
At least the riders can now go and perform with the pressure off (so to speak), no-one will expect us to do anything so hopefully the guys will just go out and enjoy themselves and gain some valuable experience. I thought there was mention of a 3/5 year plan some time ago, well this looks like the foundation for that
21st century heathen
I'd have said King over Kennett with Rico in would have been the way to go. But if Rico is ill then perhaps he has ruled himself out? I guess we'll see on that one if we need a team for the race-off. King is having a good season and I guess he's happier at the Showground than Kennett, though no doubt he (Kennett) is going to want to ride and will give it his all. He is inept as that Charlie last season.
