2009 Fim Speedway Challenge - The Ballots For The Semi-finals

Recommended Posts

These are the ones i'd expect to get through

Daugavpils Semi Final

Bjarne Pedersen (Denmark)

Jaroslav Hampel (Poland)

Fredrik Lindgren (Sweden)

Chris Holder (Australia)

Rory Schlein (Australia)

Adrian Miedzinski (Poland)

Ales Dryml (Czech Rep.)

Motala Semi Final

Antonio Lindback (Sweden)

Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark)

Matej Žagar (Slovenia)

Chris Harris (Great Britain)

Jonas Davidsson (Sweden)

Grzegorz Walasek (Poland)

Dave Watt (Australia)

Lukáš Dryml (Czech Rep.)

There are only 15 riders there

As you have picked Bomber doesn't the other semi final have 8 places to go through as well?

I read from somewhere that when no Brit will qualify, Daugavpils will only send 7+1 forward.

Any word on Swiderski, is he riding or not? Hurt his leg on wednesday and didn't ride on thursday. No news on his website 10 minutes ago when I checked.

Piotr has travelled to Sweden to see a specialist and attend practise, he will then make a decision as to wether he can ride or not,

Fair point-but in my defence it was me who said it was Latvia where only 7 would qualify.

Post no.7....i spell out the scenario even further B) Harris either makes it or he is seeded.......but i am not arguing.Just saying that is was mentioned, just at the time i don't think anyone believed us  There is no way they would send 8 + Harris from Latvia.....

More importantly, where is PePe on your list of riders expected to qualify from Daugavpils ;)

haha tbh henners I decided that even though Pepe could easily end up winning the meeting that I wouldnt tempt fate as I dont think I could bare another GP campaign from him :P

in fact I was going to do a 'worst possible 15 qualifiers' in terms of 3 of them being in the competition next season but I thought that was a bit negative ..... and it would be easier to do for the final anyway :lol:

Next question......What time do they start?!

Hope Freddie, Holder, Bomber and Woffinden all qualify...... also secretly supporting Rory Schlein - just don't tell any of the other Aces fans!!!

Also fingers crossed for a good showing from Jimmy and Morten!!

A few surprises in Latvia. End of the road for Bjarne, Schlein and Ales. Eight qualifiers are Hampel, Pavlic , Lindgren, Bogdanow, Miedzinski, Holder, Pepe and Smolinski.

judging by other previous posts on this subject there may not be 8 qualifiers............ its as clear as mud as to what could happen but it all centres around the need for British representation at Coventry for the final it seems
