spook
to be fair i think we have a bit of everything...... we have those younger guys on the up which includes a few who probably could hold their own in the gp's Martin Smolinski Jonas Davidsson Kauko Nieminen Maksim Bogdanow Chris Holder Adrian Miedziński Jurica Pavlic we have those guys already in the gp's .....and good enough to be there.......going through the qualification process which hopefully should keep those people happy who believe that most if not all riders should have to qualify Fredrik Lindgren Chris Harris Kenneth Bjerre we have the guy who should have been in the gp's in the last two years despite his poor qualification runs in that time Jarosław Hampel and despite the offense it may cause to some i have to say it...... and we have the guys who everyone should be and probably are dreading qualifying Lukas Dryml Magnus Zetterström Dave Watt Piotr Protasiewicz Grzegorz Walasek I would be worried if we had 16 of the last category but we dont...... something tells me at least one of them will qualify though
SCB
to be fair i think we have a bit of everything...... we have those younger guys on the up which includes a few who probably could hold their own in the gp's Kauko Nieminen Kauko is about 30 Is he the new Leigh Lanham? Don't matter how old he gets he'll be continually lumped with the "young guns" forever?

I've also heard good things about that youngster riding at reserve for Poole. Any chance young 'fryer' will be going for the qualifiers next season? Cornishman
9 for Bomber which should see both him and Smoli into the Cov meeting!! Obviously i'm glad he's through, but not a single race win is a bit of a worry!

f-s-p
What an incredibly dull bunch of qualifiers!! Kaukos' 1st time in the final! Enough for me, I rate this higher than whatever Laukkanen did. Just got back from Motala fabulous meeting, good racing through out. For what it's worth IMO K. Nieminen was the star of the show, brilliant racer. Kauko is about 30 Is he the new Leigh Lanham? Don't matter how old he gets he'll be continually lumped with the "young guns" forever? Kauko is your "from rags to riches" in speedway if anyone is! Hard work year after year to make ends meet. He might have stepped up to Elite a year too late, but thankfully it was a year after he was really able to do it and make the steo up! He also had help at the pits (not a given for a FI rider according to my info, hopefully helped him a lot!!!!) The rider shortage in the UK is REAL! We in in Finland are very lucky at the moment to have such level headed people running the show that there's no help given for our youngsters to take the LEAP to change the continent! frigbo
Kaukos' 1st time in the final! Enough for me, I rate this higher than whatever Laukkanen did. Fair play to Nieminen. My point is that very few of this lot will make any impact on the GP Series should they get there, or provide anything new. It's just one day at Coventry, 16 riders at a track that one messed about or at one moment tired (while watering the the track) track marshall might mess about to suit one or another... IN ALL HONESTY... That is, what is the day to day in our sport! no smiley here for approval. Edited July 4, 2009 by f-s-p
beesknees
League Averages @ Brandon with Bonus Points (without Bonus Points) Kenneth Bjerre 7.14 (6.71) Grzegorz Walasek 5.60 (5.40) Jonas Davidsson 4.31 (3.84) Kauko Nieminen 6.40 (6.40) Chris Harris 8.21 (7.31) Lukas Dryml 5.30 (4.87) Magnus Zetterström 5.84 (5.14) Dave Watt 6.21 (5.42) Jurica Pavlic 6.50 (6.00) Jarosław Hampel 6.91 (6.42) Fredrik Lindgren 7.48 (6.90) Maksim Bogdanow debut Chris Holder 8.00 (7.14) Adrian Miedziński 5.78 (5.78) Piotr Protasiewicz 7.13 (6.78) Martin Smolinski 6.66 (5.60) For me a top-3 of Lindgren, Bjerre and Davidsson if the latter brings his World Cup Brandon form with him, with Harris, Hampel, Holder and Zetterstrom in double figures. Cheers BK
Ghostwalker
then surely.....Hampel, Zagar, Lindback....and another? Happy Knowing this lot.....Scott Nicholls It kinda depends on what rider that will be within top 8 after the season. If we base the WCs on what it looks like at the moment my picks would be: 1. Lindbäck 2. Hampel 3. Holder 4. Bjerre
bruno
at zielona gora last year they charged to much to get in so the poles didnt bother going and the crowd was pathetic.so what do they do they charge 25 quid this year.dont the powers that be ever learn
Robin Bert
Can't beleive Zagar didn't make it through the way he is riding at the moment, good to see Pavlic and Miedzinski in the final though, would like to see them qualify with Holder, get some young and exciting riders in the GP next year. spook
It kinda depends on what rider that will be within top 8 after the season. If we base the WCs on what it looks like at the moment my picks would be: 1. Lindbäck 2. Hampel 3. Holder 4. Bjerre you are gonna hate me for saying so but dont forget the brit GW.............. IMG have made it very plain that GB is to be represented in the gp's the permanent WC's are always guided by the qualifiers (as well as the final top 8) anyway so its very difficult at this stage to predict........... for instance if Jonsson and Lindgren are top 8 as expected and possibly just one of Zorro or Davidsson qualify the chances are that Lindback wont get a WC.....if both qualify he has no chance........... this is the issue that Hampel has had for a couple of years now.... he keeps messing up qualification while his countrymen don't and then end up blocking any chance he has of a WC one 'rule' IMG have never broken is to not give a WC to anyone from a nation who already have 4 in the competition (assuming Lindgren and Andersen are top 8) the competition for permanent WC's is going to be fierce this season.......... we have Holder, Harris, Zagar, Lindback, Bjerre, NKI, B Pedersen, Holta, & Hampel as tried and tested competition for the top 8....... with Pavlic, Miedzinski and Davidsson also as possibilities looking at the spread of riders vying for just 4 cards i'd be suprised if any nation who has 3 through from top 8 and challenge gets a 4th from a WC
Ghostwalker
imo Holta is too old for a WC if he dont finish top 8 well too bad for hom but if they want to get some excitement back in the GPs its time to go for the sligthly younger ones (younger then 30). salty
Big problem with the nominations is at least one (if not two) get used up to ensure that there are Brits in the series. Surely there can be no justification for having 2 Brits for 2010? Harris still has a chance of qualifying in the top 8 or failing that getting through at Coventry, but with Nicholls way off the pace and no other Brit even qualifying to the semi's by right, let alone the Final, it would be totally unfair to put a Brit in for next year.
