nelson76
Hi folks, i was just wondering what everyone's view was who went to the GP on the quality of the sound system, i found myself on the middle tier on bends 3 and 4 and for the whole evening could not understand a single word that was being announced or even most of the words to songs being played, i really can't remember it being this poor at previous GP's or even when i've been sat there watching rugby matches. Was it just my section or was the whole stadium blighted with poor sound quality and if so who is responsable for it at GP events ????? tigerblues
Upper tier back straight for us and it was the same
Stevie b
It has got worse, I have been both ends on different occasions and it is the same each end. Thought last night was particulary bad though. If you go to the lower tier though it is ok, but it is not good for what is considered the premier speedway event. It didn't help that the announcer announced the riders in a random fashion each race either.
brum_57
I was right in front of a speaker on the upper tear on the thrird bend, couldn't hear a thing. Very poor.
Nazza
I was sat on the 4th bend 2nd tier and i thought it was ok
SW17 Bulldog
Sat between 1st and 2nd bends, and could hear it too much! Maybe I'm getting old, but there was no need for it to be so loud. To the point of distortion. Even the air horns didn't seem as loud, as they were drowned out by the music /shouting. Presenter was good in comments, etc, but just loud. Music seemed to be trying to hard. I'm all for atmospheric stuff, and witty tunes for winning riders, but not to the extent it was tried last year and last night. loyal royal
I get the impression that they believe the louder it is then the more atmosphere it creates. WRONG, i think it is just a bit too loud to the extent that the sound kind of rebounds off the walls/roof and distorts. Couldnt understand a word from the announcer of the rider interviews. Also think the band had a spot of trouble with the accoustics, his timing was way off at times. They just need to knock it back a notch or two. I have been to concerts in the Stadium and it is fine, i dont mind loud but you have to be able to understand it. The trouble here is they dont have a separate sound system for the entertainment, it just all goes through the stadium announcement one. The other thing is it is noce to talk to your mate occasionally about what is going on but half the time you cant hear eachother !
Tweagle
2nd Bend, half way up, the announcer was very clear. He's excellent by the way . He's also the Eastbourne announcer. Now the video screen interviews were incomprehensible - what was that all about ?.
marcel
i think the music in general was terrible the puutting together and just music they used was a poor choice

I'm an Eastbourne supporter and I not a fan of Kevin Coombes I find his presentation boring, never gets his home crowd going but thats a different issue .As for Cardiff I agree with Steve b, his hap hazard announcing of the lineups was confusing particularly as the sound system on the back straight was almost inaudible. Why bother to screen the interviews when the announcer drowned out any possible chances of hearing it.The sound system at this years GP was by far the worst I can remember here. John Leslie
I was top tier first bend. Sound was dreadfully distorted. Couldn't make out a word that was said except the race time which I had to specifically listen carefully for. (didn't hear any time given for the final though). Couldn't get a word of the interviews etc, it was loud but terribly distorted. Choice of music seemed especially poor this year and didin't create any atmosphere. Starman2006
I was on the middle tier, middle of third fourth bend, no problem with the sound here. Although it was probably a little loud at times, twick it down a touch and it will be fine, imo!. kickboard
the sound level was way to loud ! the bikes and the airhorns no problem. the pa hurt my ears.
KrisB
Top tier, back-straight towards exit of bend 2, sound generally no problem, though way too loud and distorted on the video feeds.
Jez
I was I lower tier between bend 4 and the start line and thought the sound was awful, sounded muffled everyone around me thought the same as had to concentrate to get race times
T.N.T.
Above the pits entrance, top tier. For me the balance wasn't right, Bass too high and volume too far up as it sounded like sound was coming from only a few speakers so the volume had to be raised. It was distorted quite a bit. Dont think Chris did as well as last year when he really had a great night, but you cant get it right everytime. Still think Paul Hardcastle could have been rung out a bit and I'm suprised he never had Eye of the Tiger or Two Tribes lined up in case of any arguments. I couldnt see why normal music was played right upto the green light coming on. Maybe some intro should have been used like Yello "The Race" which did get played in one of the early heats. Also no Metro Station
Rob B
Not had a problem with the sound in previous years last night was in lower tier third/fourth bend and music was fine but couldn't hear a word the announcer was saying, was having to rely on the video screens for lineups etc.
gonzo441
Been in more or less same seats for last three years, lower teer front row, almost on apex of 3 and 4. Actually thinking of trying somewhere different next year as the PA has been awefull all three years. Cannot hear a word the announcer says nor any of the interveiws. Also difficult to hear the music, although what I did hear was prety poor. However it sounds like there isn't one reliable place where it is clear! At least the big screen was working this year which was cruicial for results when close. Last year it packed up before the racing got under way. deanozoff
It was too loud!!! Up on the 3rd-4th bend we couldn't speak to each other between heats it was that bad. And my ears still haven't recovered from that bloody awful Killing Queen "tribute" act. How bad were they???
