salty
It wouldn't be that Richardson had been 'given the nod' by the powers that be for next year to replace Nicholls would it? Or am I being too cynical? In the world of Speedway it is impossible to be too cynical. Have to say that it crossed my mind that Lee's league form around Europe would put him in line for a possible nomination and he wouldn't want to jeopardise that by making a balls up of qualifying.... It would be hard to see anyone else getting a pick after they have all failed to get through the first round of the qualification process. Bryn
One wonders if he was at Cardiff. He was there on Friday for practice (actually on a bike), how did he manage that when he wasnt even the meeting reserve? Think you might be getting Lee Richardson mixed up with Edward Kennett for both ride bikes resplendent in the Martin Hagon livery.
spook
It wouldn't be that Richardson had been 'given the nod' by the powers that be for next year to replace Nicholls would it? Or am I being too cynical? I think you are being cynical..... but I dont think you are being too cynical It would certainly make sense as currently despite Bomber's improved machinery and gating he has a real struggle on to get into a position in the rankings where it will be easy for the organisers to give him a permanent wildcard.......... and Scott would have to start doing something miraculous to qualify or deserve a wildcard and possibly the most important factor here is IMG's need for the Brits to be represented...................... I do worry though that they will insist on 2 brits again next season and either select Bomber when he clearly doesnt deserve it (hopefully he will qualify as of right though) .... or end up chucking in someone too soon like Ed
spanner47
Anyone know why Lee Richardson didn't ride today? Evidently he was ill. Now i know he's always been known as a bit of a sicknote, but against that sort of field surely he could made the effort. When reaching the world final was every riders dream, some rode with a broken leg to get there, as i'm sure many of the older forum members will remember.
