We always used to stay over Friday and Saturday nights as well, complete with the family pet Jemma who had a great time in Sophia Gardens on G.P. day, or playing on the grass near The Castle - until someone chucked her ball over the castle wall one year. (No, we've never forgotten that Scorpio!) Sunday was usually spent at Porthcawl and a thoroughly enjoyable weekend was had by all.

Since getting the second dog though and trying to save a bit of money after retiring we've cut out the weekend stay and just travel on the Coventry coach. 8am start this year so we'll have to leave Leicester at the unearthly hour of 7.15am.

Getting home from a pool match around 1am, then setting off around 6.30am from Staffordshire so we can get there around 9 - 9.30ish.

Hope to meet a few new faces at the PoW during the day, will probably be wearing a TNT baseball cap and if I can get it done in time, a Lindgren/Sayfutdinov T Shirt ;)

EDIT; Only 2 in my car, so anyone stuck for a lift and can put some towards petrol, pm me

Strewth T.N.T. Do you usually manage on about 5 hours sleep?

You will be nodding off half way through the Grand Prix.

Very sorry to everyone but I've decided not to go to Cardiff, primarily because of the distance and the fact that I am working and have a long commute on Friday and Monday and could already do with more sleep than I currently get! I hope you all have a splendid time and see some great speedway. :D

Leaving Coventry at about 5ish on the Thursday night, travelling to Newport via Swinond Speedway, have to find something to do to waste most of Friday before a trip over to Somerset in the evening, up early at about 9.30/10ish on GP day (it's a Saturday, anything pre-11.30 is early) and down to Cardiff with all the peasants on the bus and a train. Newport Speedway on the Sunday, planning a day out on the Monday before heading to Wolves vs Peterborough on the evening and then rolling into work on Tuesday morning for the 2 busiest days of the month while feeling like death. Then the count down begins for 2010 :D

Will be setting off from leafy Royal Berkshire (ok, crappy Reading) around 9am Friday, heading straight (no service station stops) for Cardiff Airport to pick up HenryW, then get checked in to hotel and have a few beers before joining the Emmerdale bus to Somerset at 4pm, which considerately enough leaves from our hotel.

Thanks to the Danish speedway addict that's coming over I've got to go to Swindon on Thursday night, Somerset, GP, then Newport on the Sunday. Life's tough sometimes.

Looking forward to what should be a brilliant weekend.

Rico

Looks like a morning start on Friday ---Cardiff first to pick up my key at my cousins (just round the corner from the Stadium!!) , change and head back to Newport for our National League encounter between the Hornets and Scunthorpe (7pm start). Back to Cardiff to meet up with friends over a glass of water  or two.

Saturday --lie in??? then brekkie and off for a walk round Cardiff and a few hostelries for a few more waters  and in the stadium in time to watch the Under 15's and 250 lads (the main event!! :approve: ) , then the GP. I suppose a few more waters and a curry before retiring for the night.

Up for brekkie --then off to Newport for the Welsh Open (1pm start).

What a weekend!!
