jeff...
You are an extremely unpleasant person... I trust that you will get a warning for this.. Oh, and Neil Street (grand-father), Phil Crump (father) and Jason Crump are CERTAINLY "3 generations of the same family" as far as Jason's concerned!!! I just feel that THAT might be the most important thing don't you... Have you ever heard of the saying "when you are in a hole, stop digging"
speedyguy
Have you ever heard of the saying "when you are in a hole, stop digging" I think P1928 is trying to rewrite the science of geneaology.
jeff...
I think P1928 is trying to rewrite the science of geneaology. How are your studies of geneology coming along by the way Parsloes, have you grasped the context of family generations yet, and that for two or more people to be 1st, 2nd & 3rd generations they have to be related, not just neighbours or work colleagues etc, in fact work colleagues is quite apt isn't it in the case of Neil Street & Phil Crump. So you don't regard a man and his daughter's son to be related then..? In my book that's called a grand-father/grand-child relationship! But obviously on that I'm completely wrong!!! I have some sympathy with you, but it all falls down in a 3 generation situation when the daughter didn't ride However for the purpose of the thread I have no problem with the comparison. jeff...
Great idea. That would solve the problem once and for all. There isn't a problem, just one person arguing that black is white. The issue isnt open to debate or conjecture, it is simply fact. There is no issue of "seeing someones point of view" or "seeing where someone is coming from" etc, it is just a plain and simple carved in stone fact that I would be disappointed if my 6 year old couldn't grasp. Maybe one day Parsloes will get there
Wessex Wanderer
Good God - a decent original question and interesting thread descends into a nasty little squabble about a petty point as to what constitutes a relation!!!!!! DOES IT BLOODY WELL MATTER? If some of you think something "counts" and others think it "doesn't count" then so what??? Just be happy with your interpretation and let the other person be happy with theirs. Its hardly going to change the fate of the World is it???? Only in Speedway .......................... You are exactly right and the point i've been making. The poor unsuspecting person who started this thread wondered if anyone had ridden against three generations of rider and quoted Street (grand-father), Phil Crump (father) and Jason; and interestingly two riders who rode against all three have been identified. speedyguy and the utterly pathetic 'jeff' have just sought to be ludicrously pedantic arguing that this isn't so, when clearly in the spirit of what the poster was asking it is... I say again, only some kind of crazed pedant or misogynist (or royalist) who feels that the female side of a family is utterly unimportant would dismiss the extremely close family relationship between maternal grand-father and grand-son. jeff laughingly compared such a relationship to that of a neighbour.. what's up m8, didn't you get a birthday pressie from your grand-parents or something...!?
