youngy105
Do you have to shout? Always said Leigh is too nice a rider to have become World Champ. He doesn't even look bothered in this year's GP and after 3 pretty mundane rounds he'll just go through the motions now until the end of the SGP season. AndyM
Happens to all decent riders sooner or later - they peak and start to decline just as new blood starts to rise to the surface. Some last longer than others, but Leigh's best days are probably behind him. He'll remain an excellent rider for some years yet, just won't achieve the same heights... Deano
Just because he's peaked doesn't mean he can't still be your favourite rider. How shallow!

Sir Josten
no decline in my eyes.Just left the boy-racers to it on Saturday night.Fully expect him to feature strongly in Copenhagen.
MARK246
no decline in my eyes.Just left the boy-racers to it on Saturday night.Fully expect him to feature strongly in Copenhagen. Just a percentage rider doing his job, but unfortunately on the decline. With Sayfutdinov, Jonsson, and Lindgren riding well it takes his safe top 8 place away. The inclusion of Bjerre, Walasek and Ulamek, looks to have made points a lot harder to come by this year. Nicholls, Harris and Andersen are also struggling to make any real impression. spook
please dont shout at us sadly it does appear that his % game has become way too cautious and he is in serious danger of scoring very few points over all 3 temporary tracks if he takes the same attitude to Parken and Cardiff I like Leigh Adams ....... and there are aspects of Scott Nicholls that I like but I wonder how realistic the scenario is of one or both of them pulling out of the GP's over the next month? johnc
As long as they use temporary tracks in the GP's, Leigh will never be world champion I'm afraid. At his age, he will never take the risks that the younger guys are happy to take on rutted and /or wet tracks. His body language completely changes when he is not up for it, he looks tense on the bike - not his usual armchair style we see in the EL. I really admire the guy and love watching him when he is in full flow, but at times he lacks belief when it comes to the crunch. Too often he shuts off to consolidate his position when an aggressive pass would win him the race, this lack of aggression usually happens when on a temp track as he doesn't trust the surface. The only reason I follow / support Swindon is down to Leigh Adams, so to see him struggle like he did on Saturday was tough to watch, having said that - I never expected him to make the semi's anyway. Most people would agree (I think) that if Swindon win the EL league this year, no-one will deserve their winners medal more than Leigh Adams, his service and loyalty to the club goes a long way in my book - not to mention his fantastic league scoring record. Still a legend...........as Tony Millard says "form is temporary, class is permanent"
John Hannibal Thomas
The way I look at it the guy is almost as old as some of the Redcar team, he should have packed in years ago.
johnc
The way I look at it the guy is almost as old as some of the Redcar team, he should have packed in years ago.As your opinion is based on age, I presume you feel the same way about Greg Hancock and Tomasz Gollob? paul84
As leigh Adams has been true to british speedway i wish him well his year, But step forth the new blood the "top men" are going to have to fight for it this year brilliant!!! cant wait for Cardiff. Ghostwalker
The way I look at it the guy is almost as old as some of the Redcar team, he should have packed in years ago. why should he have done that? I might be wrong but Leigh Adams was still very competitive last season winning 2 GPs. The same goes for Gollob and Greg they are still competitive riders even if they maybe have declined a bit to this season.
Ericd22b
Leighs a racer the slick tracks arnt helping give him a track with dirt on it and then see how he gets on. Leighs biggest problem is his gateing at the mo even at swindon he doesnt always make the gate this year, Jason crump went through it last year and sorted it out so sure Leigh can do the same. The presurenshould be taken off Leigh a bit at swindon now we have Zagar which should also help. Trees
Anything could have happened at any time in the last GP, I don't blame Leigh for taking it easy. BSI/IMG are taking the pee out of these riders, they are expecting them to race on crap tracks and playing on their want to be world champion of speedway and so accepting anything, and they seem to be putting up with it ................... noggin
Exactly my thoughts.. I'm happy for leigh to take things easy and not risk injury, doesn't need to prove anything in my eyes,he'll never be world champ now,but having watched him race since 1990 he's giving hours of enjoyment. Its also good to see some of the younger guys step up this season as the gp's were getting stale.
