Any news on the proposed line up?

Not yet! It's a tad premature for that but work is going on behind the scenes and, hopefully, it'll be a night to remember.

I suppose in true speedway style we will be told the week before?

Rest assured Blazeaway the line up WILL be publicised as soon as proves possible but that's hardly going to be at this stage nigh on seven weeks before the event is it?

Can anyone remember Bryn EVER being critical of a promoter or the promotion of an event..??!! It must be SO hard to be teacher's pet ALL the time...!!!!!:wink:

The patron saint of speedway riders and promoters the world over.

Why is it so difficult to promote the event 7 whole weeks before hand?

Thats a bit of a crass comment. If you look at all of Bryns posts he always tries to take a middle of the road position and there is nothing wrong with that.

When is the line up of ANY meeting announced 7 weeks before ? Why do you need to know this early when there is alot of speedway in between?

Keep up the voice of reasonableness, Bryn. Others need to keep in mind the old saying :-

EDIT: Thankyou CM -- typed and posted the following before reading your post.

Bryn

Anyway....

Use your brain please Derek, the meeting this thread refers to is nigh on seven weeks away consequently there is absolutely NO chance of the line up being finalised at this stage irrespective of where it was being held and irrespective of whether or not I was involved.

And why you have chosen to post a personal attack on me upon me on the basis of me pointing out that fact, but at the same time pointing out that much work is going on behind the scenes in terms of organising the event is quite beyond me! Surely people in glass houses when it comes to criticising certain people shouldn't throw stones?

Do you (and both Blazeaway and WestHam 66 for that matter) expect to be told at this stage the line up for the following meetings that I believe are scheduled for the same night?

1. Sidecars at Somerset?

2. Edinburgh v Somerset (PL)?

3. Scunthorpe v Newport (PL)?

4. GB Under 21 v Australasia Under 21 at Plymouth?

Please GET REAL!

1. Couldn't give a monkeys.

2. Barring injuries or team changes I know now.

3. See above.

4. Could hazard a guess.

How about a balanced view for a change. The record is worn out

On Friday morning I will set out to see the Rockets on the road on the Northern tour. The weather looks crap and that i can't blame on the promoters. However with riders out injured do I know who will be in the Rye team not a bleeding clue. Check out the respective websites of the clubs. Rye welcome Scunthorpe to Hoddesdon without any mention of who the guests will be on the northern tour. I am probably going to see my team hammered three times in three days, my car will have 1200 more miles on the clock and I will have spent around £300 on the sport I love. Yet once again I am castaged by the defender of the BSPA.

I say to you Bryn Get Real or you won't have a sport to watch and the sooner your mates in high places realise that the better for all concerned.

If you insist on using old sayings at least have the common sense in getting the comma in the right place.

You seem to think you are pretty smart so why don't you "hazard a guess" for the London Riders Championship line-up and get on with your life instead of giving people a hard time just for the sake of it.

I am "getting on with my life" more and more and less and less of it involves speedway. Mainly due to the clowns that run our sport.

The London Riders Championship is apparently going to give me a chance to support a rider wearing my teams colours and I was genuinely interested in any details of whom that may be. Maybe I won't bother then.

As for hazarding a guess, how about:

1. Nicki Pedersen (Wimbledon)

That would do nicely.

I was hoping it would be more like:

Mark Burrows (Wimbledon)... :wink::approve:

If you go to the bother of making a post on a SPEEDWAY forum and the only point of it is to say I have put a comma in the wrong plce then I am afraid that says more bout your mental state than my (limited) keyboard skills. Please try to stick to the speedway ol' chap and save the personal attacks for other forums.....

  • 2 weeks later...

I find it ridiculous that a provisional line up has not been named, with the meeting sandwiched between the World Cup race off and final, top international riders are surely ruled out, and i can't see why lower grade riders could not make a commitment if invited.

Shockingly poor promoting.

I have heard that the London Riders Championship will now take place on a date later in the season.
