Bavarian
I'm a bit fed up with this qualifying system. The winners of the semis qualify, that's all right, and then the highest scoring runner-up also qualifies, and this is no good. With the Abensberg semi so strong there is no chance for the runner-up in that meeting to score anywhere near as many points as the runner-up in the other semi. This means with Sweden and Denmark qualifying as semi-final winners, the Czechs will also get through as the highest scoring runners-up while the potentially much stronger Aussies and Brits, who would easily beat the Czechs will not have a chance because they will take points away from each other, while the Czechs have no opposition with the weakened Finns and that make-shift Team Adria as opponents! What a farce! P.S.: I wonder why Jurica Pavlic bothers to ride in this???
f-s-p
Joni Kitala replaces Niko Siltaniemi in the Finnish team. So there's a chance Pavlic might lap someone. Depends on the track conditions though. Siltaniemi has some torn muscles in his back so he was advised to rest for a few weeks.

Bream
Damn this is bad. Mustonen from Team Finland is supposed to ride in Biefeld tomorrow in longtrack meeting with Laukkanen. It's qual. for GP challenge.
f-s-p
The buggers cut me off as I was posting the info here last night New try today and the weather looks good. Mustonen left for Bielefeld yesterday so the Finns are down to four riders. I think the danes have a full team even though Larsen and Klindt would have had meetings elsewhere. TwoMinuteWarning
Result of 2nd semi-final from http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel (no scorers yet): 1. Czech Republic - 56 2. Denmark - 55 3. Adria (Slovenia/Croatia) - 19+3 4. Finland - 19+2 So, as expected, Germany don't make it to the Final, since this semi-final was much weaker of the two Final will be Poland v Sweden v Czech Republic v Denmark (at Gorzow, Sept 5)
