ladyluck
whos gone through Sweden. The Germans have to wait on the result of the second semi-final to see if they qualify. However, the Poles will win, they always do.

SCB
Michael Max explained at the meeting yesterday. As Josh was originally and always going to be part of the main team ... he had to go out for free practice which took place on Sunday, attendance is mandatory as its an official FIM event, just like the GP's and SWC. Mitch was only a reserve so didnt need to go out. Its the way officially run FIM meetings have always worked. If Kozza was riding, he would of had to be at free practice on the sunday too Not actually true. Practice is not compulsary and has not been for about 5 or 6 years now. Maybe the Austraian authorities said he had to be there but it's certaily not comulsary. Maybe the SCB/ACU should have said one of our youngster had to be there? Modd
practice isnt compulsory as Tai rode in Poland yesterday and turned up in Germany this morning.

MARK246
There was only one team for the win in this meeting, but it's good to see Germany in second place, despite losing a rider early in the meeting. The youth policy in Germany is certainly working,
flagrag
This is the thing if it wasnt for injuries the British team would have probaly walked it as would have lined up as Bridger,Woffinden,Barker,Roynon and then between Mear and Auty Im sure that team would have seen off the Swedes and Aussies it just wasnt meants to be the Brits year likewise for the Brits lads in the U21 ind Edited June 1, 2009 by flagrag
Snyper1010
LMAO Flagrog nothing biased about your prediction eh. I think you need to go and take a look at the line ups again. And considering the Aussies came 3rd then what do they have to do with it? it would be the Swedes and Germans that you had to worry about. It was nothing to do with being fully fit the Swedes and Aussies had to change their original teams and the Swedes still walked it.

The Germans can't be any good or they would ride in Britain. It will be interesting, if Team GB finish last in Peterborough they will have to qualify next year. IMO they will struggle against teams like Slovenia and Germany outside the UK.
Fozzie4388
The boys will be in the final next year anyway. As its over here so they ll be seeded to the final then lets see what happens.
Snyper1010
Mark that would be like saying the GP stars cant be any good or they would ride in Britain too. I just think Flagrog is totally and utterly biased with his opinion of what would of happened. As i mentioned none of the teams had their desired 5men out so to say if GB were at full strength can immediately be countered with "if the other 3 were at full strength" see where im going with this. Unfortunately that is what happens, look on other threads Walasek, Ulamek and Sayfutdinov all criticised prior to the start of the GP series as not good enough, no hopers, a waste of a GP space. Congrats to Germany
gypilgrim
Is Rob Mear out ? Who will be his replacement ? Which U-21 Brit is prepared to travel hundreds of miles for very little reward ? Why is this farcical qualifying round still happening when everyone knows that only one team will qualify for the final from this meeting while TWO teams will qualify from the WEAKER semi ? Answers on a postcard please! I guess I can now answer my own questions. Yes Mr Nobody Ditto As far as British Speedway is concerned let's all pretend it didn't happen. (Well that will be the attitude of the so-called British Speedway authorities). All due respect to the "Fab 4" who turned up to represent their country today, I salute you. However, once again, the "management team" - yes you, Rob Lyon - who made such loud noises about "bringing on the youngsters" have shamefully let down the team and the whole of British Speedway with this episode! Cue the excuses in the Star on Thursday. Congratulations to Sweden and a big well done to Germany for beating the Aussies, shame that it is unlikely to be enough points to squeeze out the R/U from the other Semi. Rant over. Sweden could have put this team on the track: 1. Tomas H Jonasson 2. Simon Gustafsson 3. Billy Forsberg 4. Ludvig Lindgren 5. Linus Eklöf but neither Simon Gustafsson or Billy Forsberg could participate due to injury and they are together with Jonasson our 3 best U21 riders. Unforunately for Billy this was his last chance of a U21 team title as he'll be 22 y.o. next year. Snyper1010
Just emphasises my point Ghostwalker that none of the teams had the full strength team they would of wanted. Flagrog just took patriotism a bit too far with that misjudged and truely false post.

Khabiboulin
Judging by the scores, and what's been said earlier in the thread, it looks like Lewis Bridger got injured in this. Anyone know how badly? Was the early diagnosis of a dead leg and double vision correct? Edited June 1, 2009 by Khabiboulin

Rob Lyon isnt in charge of the U21, If I remember correctly, isnt that Dave Crouchers job? People always go on about why Britain have no riders, they just don't seem to have the will power. Mitchell had less time to be called up and still rode yesterday - British riders just dont seem to have the fight in them.
