KEITH M
The question was asked, the answer is, on all the statistics available Lee Richardson is Britains no 1. Agree with that as being British Champion doesn't make you number one as that would mean Adam Skornicki would be the Polish number one and Magnus Zetterstrom the Swedish number one Edited May 10, 2009 by KEITH M

Pirate Nick
Nicholls I will give you, Harris I won't, he is still young and an exciting rider to watched, even if he comes in last he entertains. I suspect your opinion would be different he was a Pirate? He is exciting to watch, however he needs to sharpen his gating up if he wants to compete with the best. Have to say he's always good to watch at Poole grabbing a big handful round the outside but he cant get away with that so much against the big boys in the GP. Especially not given the way Olsen prepares the tracks (completely cocked up a cracking racing track last night again!!). Gating is the key and he needs to improve significantly before he will make any impact in the series.
Sandie
and I wonder what caused Kelvin to be sitting in a studio in Britain instead of out there with him Scott Nicholls maybe? I do believe that is nothing more sinister than a contractual agreement with Sky that was in place long before his work with Scott started! As far as I know there is nothing more than simple he has to work for Sky. The plan at the beginning of the GP series was that he would be attending every other GP with Scott. As to whether that remains a plan I dont know but again, thats me just covering myself for those that come back late and quote me!! As for Scott last night - I agree a terrible performance and I hope that Scott is willing to give the Speedway Star an interview to explain why he was so bad. That way we stop speculating and he stands up and either says - yes I was pants or this was wrong or that was wrong!!! Im sure he, himself, isnt too chuffed this morning either. And Chris didnt light any fuses last night either. But again I doubt we are saying anything that he and his team havent already said privately. But maybe we have reached rock bottom and when I go over to the Gothenburg GP we will see the Brits fighting again - please, please , please, please, please !!! Star Lady
So if Scott wins the British Final and Chris stays ahead of him in the GP's Who is British number one? IMHO it would be Harris as he would have proved it over several (GP) meetings with higher class opposition. Of course your opinion might be different
Guest Ashie Smashy
Just for the record, I did not start this thread. A moderator has merged it with someone else's thread and kept their thread title for some reason.
Guest Ashie Smashy
Actually it is pretty crap moderation because my thread was about Nicholls and idiot all to do with Harris.
philfromcov
i know scott decided to give the uk a miss so he could concentrate on the gps.... perhaps his concentrating too much because it was embarrasing to watch! harris league form is patchy at best, with all top riders out he should get a 10 point average at least, but doesnt seem at all consistant...... oh welcome back Hans! SCB
Seeing as the World Cup race off and final is on the same track as last night, lets hope we don't qualify as we'll get dicked like the last time it was there. Nicholls and Harris are, well, what Nicky Pedersen said the ref was in his interview I love that theory, we're going to be "dicked" in the final/race-off so to save embarrassment lets not qualify and in stead be "dicked" at Peterborough. That almost as good as the "you're better off having a poor team and keeping the same 7 riders next season than having a good team and having to make changes the year after and then struggling". I wonder who said that?
Steve Shovlar
Just watched Nicholls today at his Polish track. Scrapped 6 points frm 5 rides, including a paid win when he got a monster roller which should have been called back. Managed to just beat Darcy ward in his last ride for 2 points. He really is in poor form and needs to get back here to sort himself out. Edited May 10, 2009 by Steve Shovlar
Cheekee Raylee Monkee
Sorry to see the lack of points from both Scott & Bomber & Scott was simply off the pace. The top of the leaderboard is pretty much packed with riders not racing in the UK so its difficult to see how that can excuse Scott's performances in the first 2 GP's. As we all know, Bomber is racing in the UK & he isn't doing much better. I can't really see where a race win is coming from for either of them. As to the wisdom of Scott opting out of the UK, the best time to judge that will be in October at the end of the season. I recall that TRick did some early season meetings in Britain a few seasons ago. I didn't agree with it at the time but 'British Promoters will be British Promoters'. He realised that it helped his early season GP form to have some meetings in the UK. I think that the GP this season is showing itself as an increasingly inferior product - which is unfortunate given that it hasn't got a lot to beat in the excitement stakes if you compare it with last season. The essential reason is poor track preparation. Having only missed Cardiff once in the past I certainly won't be going this year.
AndyM
Can't say I agree with all this negative stuff. Surely we should be encouraging the lad to do better, not writing him off? Suspect the problem is largely within his head, not his machinery. If I were him I'd definitely get to see a sports psychologist without delay and get himself prepared for the next GP. Theres an idea maybe Nicholls and Harris could make a record, they could be speedways very own Diamond Light. For those who dont know put Diamond Lights into Youtube.
