MEETING FORMAT 10 teams will compete in 2 groups.

Each team will ride against every other team in their group (4 rides each) with the top 2 teams in each group progressing to the sudden death semi-finals.

Winners of each semi-final will then race in a winner-takes-all Grand Final.

Semi-final losers will race-off for third place.

Scoring system: 4-3-2-0

Come again?! I may just not be reading this right but can anyone make sense from this.

What is a sudden death semi?

and a winner takes all final?

Does this mean that the team who takes a heat advantage go through or the team of the rider who wins the heat?

Also why change the point system.

I think these rules are same as before - can anyone else confirm? It is pair with heat advantage that goes through?

The team who gets the most points wins the heat ( ). So if a team gets second and third they will win that heat.

I'd have said the above explains what a sudden death semi and winner takes all final is.

Same as its always been.

The scoring system is there to reward team riding Snyper, and to ensure no level scoring hetas (ie no 3-3's). 'Sudden death' and 'winner takes all' merely highlight that fact.

Would expect the Lynn pairing to be Captain Fantastic and the Boy Wonder

Yea i have been away made coffee and done a few things and my mind is now working and its all clear lol sorry for sounding stupid.

edit it was the simple mistake of having the regular 3-2-1-0 heat scores imprinted on my mind.

Exactly Bagpuss, not that hard to understand surely Snyper

Although tarnished by an extremely bad refereeing decision, some of the racing last time was as good as i've seen in over 30 years of speedway watching.

I'll be back hoping for more of the same this year, also taking in Bournemouth v IOW on the Thursday :approve:

My guesses at the pairings

GROUP 1

Kings Lynn - Ward & Topinka

Somerset - Johno & Kramer

Berwick - Makovsky & Franc (we already know)

Rye House - Mear if fit??, with either Sundstrom or Neath as his partner

Scunthorpe - Howe & Karlsson

GROUP 2

Glasgow - Parker & Grieves

Workington - Rymel & Doolan

Redcar - Proctor & Stoney/Havelock

Edinburgh Fisher & Wethers

Birmingham Piszcz & Lyons

The 4 likely semi-finalists IMO, but group 2 will be tight

If there the likely riders on show i would def say that Group 2 is strong, but with the winners coming from group 1

Edinburgh Fisher & Wethers

Can't see that happening, especially after last night. Its a well known fact that Grieves is awful at Somerset and he hates riding at the place hence why he pulled out last year for Redcar and Proctor rode in his place.

Edinburgh's Ryan Fisher and Matthew Wethers were awesome last night and would take some beating on last nights showing. Not sure what the averages allow as Wethers is fairly low down in the pecking order I think, but for at Somerset that is the correct pair to chose assuming they are allowed.

He will just have to ride now! as our only hope is now out for 6 weeks with a broken ankle.

GoGetter there is a thread in the Individual section. The teams have already been seleceted. As im aware its the team with the best heat 15 results throughtout the PT qualifiers.

I originally thought that, but Birmingham managed 2 heat advantages in heat 15...surely this isn't a good way of deciding it!

So we have team events in the idividual section???? Are the BSPA running this forum now?

I thought qualification was based on how many mates each promoter has on the managemsnt committee.
