Trotter
When Darcy Ward thundered into Jason Lyons in the semi-final King's Lynn's hopes died. Why he was bothered about hitting the front in that heat is beyond me because all that mattered was not finishing last! Had nobody told him? With Topinka at the back at the time the Stars may not have qualified anyway but their exit seemed to open the way for Somerset to grab the title. Are you sure you was watching the race? Tomas was actually in 2nd at the time with Piszcz 1st. Darcy was trying to reclaim 3rd spot from Jason Lyons after Lyons had dived underneath him going into turn 3. MattyHart
I'm sure he is just building it up over a few years before he wins the gold, surely the King of Cool couldn't bottle it, majorly, 3 times without an ulterior motive?
Najjer
All Hail the unlucky King Kramer :D Blew it for them in the final - AGAIN Hey enough of it. You were left speechless.. well.. sort of.. after his heroic Semi Final ride. If he hadn't produced the ride of the night, we would never of been there in the first place. Which reminds me, what happened to "Flyin' Ryan" Fisher in his final ride against Glasgow? Did he also.. blow it?

paul84
Well done to the Brummies on their Pairs win, they rode very well towards the end of the meeting. What a great show the Somerset promotion put on everything was top notch from: Pit access before the meet, the club house, the drink, viewing for the racing and last but certainly not least the track at Somerset was perfectly prepared and the racing was brilliant. The meeting was a credit to the sport im glad there was so many people there to see the top PL lads in action.Well done Somerset. Only downsides to the meeting were: Why start at 7:30 if the meeting cant be completed due to the curfew, and why all the messing about between heats? Also i didnt understand the swapping about of heat re-runs in the semi seems to jump back a heat -confused? Allowing time for Johno perhaps? All in all a great speedway meeting enjoyed it all, Workington were superb and again our lads done us proud and really went out to win it for us unfortunately it wasnt to be, But well done Adrian and Kev. Hope Shane Parker is ok and is ready for his trip to Workington with Glasgow, Have to mention Tom Brown who really mixed it considering the company he was in. The race I was referring to was his last race against from memory was Birmingham

I agree with most of your comments, but for those of us arriving late (****** M25 Car park), and having to walk through 3 fields of cow ****, to find they had sold out of programmes, and be given copied race card on a A4 piece of paper. ( the programme was of cos bigger than this). However after that poor start to the night, thought the track was excellant, that gave a decent nights racing. However im not sure that Somerset is geared up to entertain that many people with its very basic facilities, well not yet.
Snyper1010
I must of been watching the farmers field behind me as i was doing the texting for the updates and i saw very little passing. The line started on in the inside and drifted out to the middle as the night went on. The only person who could find any real pace off that line was Johno. It was not a night filled with exciting racing.

There were too many 7-2's really . Of course my heart wasn't really in it after heat 2 , as we had no chance once Shane left in the ambulance . Although we had the satisfaction of dealing our nearest and dearest a fatal blow . Nice to see the Brummies winning something after a few near misses in various competitions . And for once we got to the track with a bit of time to spare .

Najjer
I must of been watching the farmers field behind me as i was doing the texting for the updates and i saw very little passing. From memory, I'm sure PhilK said he counted 13 out of 20 races where there was passing. That isn't bad going at all.

Ward on Johnston in Heat 1. Sundstrom around Topinka. Fisher around Grieves. Proctor I seem to remember rounding someone. Proctor also went from nearly 2nd to the back. The Somerset pair between them must have had about 5 or 6. I'm sure there is a few more that I missed, but that is roughly about 10 already. But then that was outstanding and it would have been too much to expect the next year to reach those heights . But it was an enjoyable enough evening just the same , even if my heart wasn't in it after heat 2 .
kelvyn william hemborough
firstly sorry i'm so late, i would just like say how unlucky it was for both king's lynn and workington who were the best sides on the night and should both be in the final (coming from a somerset fan). also i feel that that in semi-finals there shouldn't be any disqualifications i mean it takes the fun out of it, birmingham didn't deseve to get to the semi(no offense) let alone the final, meanwhile in the other semi we beat worky fairly although they were still the better side. finally can i say how disgusted i was with the birmingham support who came and barged my uncle out of the way saying "oi this is the place for the winners" then took the mick when we were chanting rebel rebel, when they sounded like a bunch of apes trying to chant something (couldn't even work out what it was) we didn't take the mick. I mentioned it to Merlin on Friday, I think the difference this year is that alot of teams built their teams with strength in depth rather than have an out and out heat leader unlike Somerset, Kings Lynn and Workington. You think about it, over the Winter the Premier League lost the likes of Doyle, Woffinden, Nermark, Nieminen, Barker and Ostergaard to name just a few and that will hit home in the Super7even events this year.
