Statman
Crump Injured but Still Makes Testimonial Appearance Jason Crump will be at the Oak Tree Arena this Friday night in celebration of Mark’s Lemon’s Testimonial, however owing to a racing injury sustained on Monday of this week, Crump will not be fit enough to take his place in the Australia v Rest of the World line-up. Filling big shoes, the committee has been quick to swoop upon the services of Australia's World Team Cup Rider, Troy Batchelor as a replacement for the injured Crump. With one Crump out, young Seth Crump and his sister Mia will make their first appearance riding their Peewees on the Somerset track before the meeting. It was also announced today that Sky Sports pundit and retired English International, Chris Louis will appear on the evening’s schedule and will take part in a match race on track with 1993 World Champion, Sam Ermolenko during the interval. On the evening, gates open at 5.30pm with a rider parade at 7.15pm. Tapes up 7.30pm prompt. Tickets have been in huge demand and will be available on the evening. Adults cost £13.50, children aged 6-16 £4, Under 5s go free. Fireworks will follow the podium celebrations before all will be welcome in the club house to enjoy post race entertainment. Commenting on last minute plans, Lemon said: ‘It has been a blow to lose Jason from the field at this late stage but I’d thrilled he and the family will still be there as guests on the evening. I wish him a very speedy recovery so he can get back to securing the 2009 World Speedway Championship. I am extremely grateful to Troy, deputising for Jason at such short notice and it still promises to be a thriller of a showdown; roll on Friday!’

Shadders
Recommend the Chili and Chips. I second that, they were delicious at the PL Pairs Just a reminder that there will be updates provided for those of us unfortunate not to be there. bobxski
Why is Cory Gathercole not included in the Aussie side, as a Somerset rider? Someone asked him that in the clubhouse last night and he replied " Guess I'm just lucky"

HeyJude
What a fantastic night, great racing and the races between Sam & Chris classic !!!! For me the highlight was seeing twice world champion Freddie Williams, still a sprightly old boy who must surely be around the 80 mark! Good crowd by the looks of it, I would imagine ML walked out with a tidy sum of spondoolies and much deserved too! Whats the betting we all had a better night than the crowd up at Coventry and at half the price too !

He has helped turn the Diamonds' season round since joining us.
Jenn
Enjoyed my first Somerset experience. Racing not quite as good as expected but still pretty fab!!! Very pleased Hans won after the disappointment of Jason not being able to ride. Really good to see such a large crowd too - esp with the GP Challenge being on @ Coventry Also was cool to meet another fellow forumer - Najjer - Though I dont know if he knew he was meeting me!! Edit - seems I also met/spoke to Colnago Dream, Womble and Statman - But SCB and Silver Bee never officially introdued.... blackdog
A thoroughly enjoyable evening and a great track. Any ideas how many came through the gates, it was great crowd. I would like to second what albert49 says, it was a great night made all the beter for me by meeting Peter Karlson,Sam Ermolenko and last but not least Travis McGowan (who must be one of the nicest guys in speedway, a real Gentelman) The only downer was that TAI was unable to ride due to ilness but it was a good nights entertainment . Well done to Somerset Speedway for laying on such a good meeting and I really hope that Mark had a night to remember he deserves it
MattyHart
Good meeting I thought, was good to see the likes of Adams and Hans going at it at Somerset. Most of the field was impressive, Kramer was looking good in the race he won and probably would have gone through the card if not for his injury. Well done Mark Lemon on a succesful night. Najjer
Also was cool to meet another fellow forumer - Najjer - Though I dont know if he knew he was meeting me!! Edit - seems I also met/spoke to Colnago Dream, Womble and Statman - But SCB and Silver Bee never officially introdued.... Wasn't until Silver Bee told me afterwards that it was you! So anyway, nice to meet you. But 25 years old, are you joking? Kramer was looking good in the race he won and probably would have gone through the card if not for his injury. It was a travesty the fans were robbed of such an awe inspiring performance due to his injury. Edited September 21, 2009 by Najjer
