frigbo
As I said, Bob, there are plenty who only had a relatively short British career, but when you start getting over 5 years, they do get rare. How about Greg Kentwell, though? Steve Kentwell rode for Long Eaton as well as Halifax.

chunky
Kentwell rode for Long Eaton as well as Halifax. It was just an idea... It does seem to be a struggle, doesn't it? Steve
BOBBATH
Hi Steve-hope you are fine in Kahokia there-interesting results-perhaps we should make it a career of 5 years or more-there are fewer names than I thought-great to see some of these old riders mentioned tho. What about Geoff Mudge for Poole? frigbo
Another no unfortunately Bob. Mudge rode for Reading, Newport and Exeter too

Doing fine thanks, Bob, although it is Cahokia with a 'C'! Geoff Mudge also rode for Reading and Newport. A couple of possibles for four years (which seems pretty good at the moment) are Crayford are Jack Bibby and Richard Davey. I'm also thinking that Chris Chaplin spent all his time (four years again) at Rye? Steve

mervjankefanclub
Was Brian Andersen anything other than a Bee? Steve My mind may be playing tricks, but I seem to remember Newcastle thinking they had signed him before he went to Coventry, cant be certain that he actually made any appearances for them though, but something tell me he may have made one or two. I believe the year was 1991 when he won the world junior title at Brandon Edited May 11, 2009 by mervjankefanclub

Shadders
I'm also thinking that Chris Chaplin spent all his time (four years again) at Rye?According to my records 1983-85. He made 54 appearances for the Rockets in league and cup..... As far as I can see he hung up his leathers after the Hackney home National League match on 12th May 2005 at the age of 22. chunky
Hans Wasserman - Reading I had already thought of Hans, but it was for less than two full seasons. As we said, there will be a bunch of riders whose British career spanned no more than two years, who would qualify. After all, while you're at it, you could include Tony Briggs, Denny Pyeatt, and Pierre Brannefors. That also opens the door for Brad Oxley, Mats Olsson, Jan Henningsen etc... BOBBATH
How about old Cardiff riders e.g. Kevin Hayden,Mick Holland(altho perhaps also Swindon) I agree lets say a min career of 5 years then I think you could count 'em on your fingers(and toes)!!Any more than ten I will have to take my socks off!! Steve Not according to Norbold's excellent..... "70 Years of Rye House Speedway" I've been a regular at Rye House since 1985..... I don't remember Chris Chaplin riding for us in 1986, at least not in any home meetings.
