TEENAGE hot-shot Darcy Ward will ride in this month's Four-Team Tournament at the Abbey Stadium.

Seventeen year old Ward, one of World Speedway's most exciting talents, will represent Cradley Heath in the meeting that takes place on 17th September, 7.30pm.

In his inaugural British League campaign Darcy Ward has taken the sport by storm. Therefore, the Australian's inclusion in the meeting is sure to excite.

He joins Jason Crump, Matej Zagar, Leigh Adams, Hans Andersen and Steve Johnston as a confirmed starter for the meeting, which takes place on Thursday 17 September.

This meeting will be awesome and I can't wait. Full credit to the Swindon management for already organising what looks to be a cracking meeting :approve:

Well we're just about close enough to start looking at what the weather might be up to. And given the general pattern that is about to become established I feel confident that we should be okay. As of tomorrow high pressure parks itself over us and should bring a spell of settled/dry weather to much of the country. Though by next week it will probably be rather more cloudy than many of us will see between tomorrow and the weekend, perhaps into early next week. With the nights getting longer and the sun weaker any cloud (and any mist and fog that forms - primarily in rural locations) is harder to shift by day, and with high pressure in situ the winds will be relatively light so that won't shift it either. And it could start to feel cool early and late in the day.

THE LINE-UPS for the forthcoming four team tournament, to be held at Blunsdon on Thursday 17th, September 2009, have now been finalised.

The Swindon side will be made up of club captain, Leigh Adams with current Robins Simon Stead and Morten Risager. Swindon asset and Abbey favourite Mads Korneliussen completes the quartet.

The Cradley Heathens team will be represented by Hans Andersen, Adam Shields, Darcy Ward and the Robins #8 Cory Gathercole. Former Cradley promoter Colin Pratt will assume the managerial responsibilities.

The Ideal Video Reading Racers team managed by Tim Sugar will feature current Robins Matej Zagar and Travis McGowan together with former Racers Patrick Hougaard and Phil Morris.

Last, but by no means least, the Oxford Cheetahs team will be headed by World Champion Elect Jason Crump. His team mates are set to be current GP reserve Neils Kristian Iversen, former Robin and Cheetah favourite Steve Johnston and current Swindon reserve and long time Oxford asset Paul Hurry. Past manager Richard Palmer will take charge of the Cheetahs.

Is Adam Shields definitely riding then? Wish they would announce the full line-up not just one rider at atime.

I believe Adam is fully fit now and he will be riding for Cradley.

Please see zeistsport's post before your last post to see the full line up from each team or visit www.swindon-speedway.co.uk to see for yourself.

I quite like the look of the full line-ups. They look pretty even although I give Swindon the edge.

I'm looking forward to seeing Cradley riding in a Elite League standard meeting for the first time in about 10 years on Thursday.

It will be interesting to see Darcy Ward ride for us although i do feel Swindon look the strongest team. As long as we are competitive then that's good enough for me although a win would be very nice ;)

I think that's how we all feel Will. The meeeting needed to be fairly even on paper for it to grab the public attention. And to be fair to Swi I think they've done their best to put out four teams that are as closely matched as possible. I do think Swi have a slight advantage on paper, but it's close enough that another team could surprise them if they're not all on form.

Nice to see the show of support MD. Cheers mate. :approve:

p.s. I've seen my message on Facebook but not got around to answering (home computer playing silly wotsits). Thanks for the messge. No probs, it's all just a bit of fun. :)
