So pleased to have helped Brendan and Dave out with the driving, etc.A great time, and something Im glad to been able to experience.

Back at our hotel for good meal before the 30 hour drive back home tomorrow.

Very hard work on a track with little or no shale.I must say a big thank you to the organisers at the track,as they were all very friendly.Foods great too.

Shame about the dust,as we were all covered from head to toe,and that was just from the dirt car park!

Many thanks from all of us here. The messages and texts of support are genuinely appreciated.

Hopefully all back safely by Sunday afternoon.

Once again,Cheers folks.

Cheers Bob

Thanks for the updates throughout the week mate, really good effort by Brendan and a great experience to add to his speedway education :approve:

Have a safe and troublefree journey home, and will catch up with you all very soon!

Think you've read that a bit wrong Hazzman, they've only met once in Ht 12.

There was a mistake on the updates website for two minutes, it was quickly changed and Pickard faced Vaculik instead in Ht 14. Johnson came on later in Ht 16.

Pity about the British lads, but a big well done to Renè Deddens.....he has always impressed me when i have seen him.Pity he couldn't take that booking in England at the end of last year a couple of us forumers tried to set up.....

Pity about the British lads,

I can't comment about Jaimie, but for Brendan I wouldn't call it a pity. He's still 16 so to pick up 6 points against some decent opposition there was more than expected. As a sponsor, I'm more than happy with how he did, and I'm sure I speak for some of his other backers too. This was by far his biggest event in his career and he's done himself proud. Some may scoff at that, but in the context of overall experience and the result, it wasn't bad at all.

I am just speaking from the point that it is a pity neither qualified......but i have already commented that i find it very good that the lads entered the competition and i am sure the will gain from the experience.....so i still say it is a pity they never got through to the next round....whatever you call it  But i still say a very good result from René B) and pooh to the hair splitters

Rene and his dad are with us at our hotel. They are a smashing family.Rene and Bren have become the best of pals, both inviting each other to stay over, when they visit each others country. He also mentioned that 3 British clubs have shown an interest.

Must say,Rene was extremely unlucky not to qualify. With a very safe 2nd place in the bag, enough to do it,he blew a motor.

Im certainly going to be looking at this lads results.Wont be long before he is over here.

Good to hear it Bob.That is also part of the experience....getting to know the other guys and making friends.I did actually miss read the results.I am sure somewhere i saw that René got through. But i see now that he is only reserve.Still a good result that could have been a lot better if not for that bit of bad luck in the last heat.He is certainl the German youngster to look out for after Kevin Wölbert, who is a few years older.
