f-s-p
It's a problem time to time to follow results from the internet, since people use different "codes" to mean different things. It's a language thing too. But lets now gather these on this thread, so we can check them from this one place if we happen to forget what something meant. FINLAND + FIM d - disqualified R - retired, engine failure or similar T - d tapes M - d 2 minutes N - non starter F - fell but wasn't d GERMANY D = disqualified (disqualifiziert) A = retired/engine failure (Ausfall) N = non starter (nicht gestartet) S = fell but wasn`t D (Sturz) DENMARK D = disqualified (Diskvalificeret) F = fell but wasn`t D (Styrt – Fall) M = disqualified 2 minutes (Diskval. for 2 Min.) R = retired/engine failure (Udgået af heatet) NS = non starter (ikke startet) POLAND d (defekt) - engine failure or similar w (wykluczony) - excluded w/u (wykluczony/upadek) - exluded/fell t (taśma) - tape w/2min (wykluczony/2 minuty) - exluded/2minutes ns (nie startował) - non starter u (upadek) - fell Sometimes We use d1, d2, d3, d4, dst. They are mean; d1=engine failure he was first, d2=engine failure he was second etc...dst=engine failure on starting line SWEDEN F = Fall X = Excluded Fx = Fall, excluded Fn = Fall, non-starter in re-run N = Non-starter M = Excluded for exceeding two minutes R = Retired or engine failuire T/T = Touch the tape exclusion (as previous) AUSTRALIA from MA rule book M= Excluded for 2 minute rule R= Retired from the race F= Fall but not excluded T= Excluded for false start E= Excluded N= No start CZECH codes T – tape (vyloučen, najetí do pásky) M – Excluded for 2 minute rule (vyloučen, překročení limitu 2 min) R – Retired or engine failuire (defekt, porucha, odstoupení) N – non starter (nenastoupil k jízdě) d – excluded (vyloučení) F – fall (pád bez vyloučení) Fd - exclude/fall (vyloučen pro pád) Edited April 29, 2009 by f-s-p

Ghostwalker
Sweden: past years there have only been 2 codes: T/T Touch tape U utesluten (excluded) possible in some cases also F/U (fall utesluten = fell/Excluded) i dont know if there will be more this season. IMO wouldnt it be appropiate if FIM issued a directive to the national federations to use the offiacial FIM codes? So that the codes are the same no matter what country or competition it is? Anders
Starting this season, every official Swedish meeting scoring sheets must be written with the following codes: F = Fall X = Excluded Fx = Fall, excluded Fn = Fall, non-starter in re-run N = Non-starter M = Excluded for exceeding two minutes R = Retired or engine failuire T/T = Touch the tape exclusion (as previous)

f-s-p
f-s-p We do not know Finnish codes Let us know it We are using the FIM codes currently. Thats the plan anyway at the moment. When going through older results like from 1990 to date they have: K - fell (kaatui) X - excluded H - excluded (hylätty) M - 2 minutes d T - tapes d - - non starter On some very old results (1950-1970) they have sometimes used "-" as a way of saying someone's finished last. Thats not all that good. The European Union should make a directive about all this. As it happens the elections are this year... Maybe I should run for a seat at Strasbourg!! manchesterpaul
There is a special temporary code in operation during the World Team Cup for the British team; B = British rider - Caution - Slow moving traffic A = All alone at the back L = Left at the start or, L = Last in race (doesn't matter which as same points outcome) S = Scoreless U = Underpowered engine P = Pathetic peformance (also known as pointless) Edited April 29, 2009 by manchesterpaul
