Robbie B
Thanks for the info DutchGrasstrack, but why can't the teams be called USA, Czech Repulic, Finland and Latvia, instead of having the word Team in front of them I'm not having a go at you, but they the use this word in the UK as well, it just sounds so silly to me putting that word in front of the countries names, we never used to use it, just following the Americas I'm affraid. Shame that there's no Dutch team entered, I remember Rudy Muts and Henny Kroeze from the past, both very good riders. Rico
Calm down Robbie B. Note there is a colon between 'Team' and each country named. They are not being referred to as Team Finland etc in the same vein as the mighty Team GB. Looks an interesting line up for the meeting and 3 riders with Monarchs recent connections in the field. I'll plump for the Czechs to battle through. Rico
DutchGrasstrack
Oh well, I've just copied it from the FIM Press release lol . In The Netherlands we only got 2 riders who might be able to score a single point (Jannick de Jong and Henk Bos), it's such a shame that the Dutch Federation isn't working harder to train Dutch rider of even run more meetings. It's all about money... and it looks like they don't want to invest in Speedway, and that's a big shame.

But I do hate the use 'Team GB' also, might be just me, I much perfer just plain Great Britain If Joonas Kylmakorpi is fit and rides Finland might have a chance, otherwise I think the Czech Republic will do the business. SCB
QUOTE (Robbie B @ Apr 20 2009, 12:06 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi Rico, you're right about the colon I didn't see it, I must get some glasses. Whats wrong with plain, simple and bloody obvious "Great Britain". That said, if we want to get pedantic, it's no Sweden, Poland or Russia either, we should refer to them as they are spelt/prounounced in their native languages. NOT No new news regarding Kylmäkorpi and his "ameriikan vitamiinit"/oxygen therapy. Looks like he's a no go for this one.

Gemini
Team: USA 1 Greg Hancock (Captain) 2 Ryan Fisher 3 Chris Kerr 4 Ricky Wells 5 Kenny Ingalls No Billy Janniro? Surely he would do better than Ricky Wells and Kenny Ingalls (with apoligies if he is another Greg Hancock but I've never heard of him.) RPNY
I was thinking the same thing, sureley the AMA could pay for Billys costs to represent them in such a meeting.
Sandie
No Billy Janniro? Surely he would do better than Ricky Wells and Kenny Ingalls (with apoligies if he is another Greg Hancock but I've never heard of him.) Kenny is definately no Janniro. He is a good lad with heaps of potential but I do think he may be out of his league here. (Sorry Kenny ) But the AMA must really be struggling to put a National team together at the moment. Last year there was definately a lack of funds given to the team (allegedly) and its a long way to bring across non British riding members. Cant see them going through but pleased they still managed to get a team together. I will follow with interest.
