Hungary - 22: Laszlo Szatmari (1,0,0,2,1) 4 Roland Kovacs (1,1,1,0,0) 3 Norbert Magosi (1,2,d,1,1) 5 Jozsef Tabaka (1,w,1,2,2,3) 9 Attila Lorincz (0,0,0,1,-) 1 A great win from my boys. We started really well, but then we had some bad luck with Zagar's exclusion. We were 9 points down, but we fough back and it all went to a run off for the win. It was a great all around performance from our riders. Stojs was the biggest surprise of the day with probably the best meeting in his career. Conda made an excellent debut in the senior team. Gregoric made some mistakes in the later part of the meeting, but was very aggresive in the first part. Santej showed experience and got us the points when we needed them. And Zagar was the real team captain with lots of advices for the less experienced riders. Peterborough, here we come! P.S.: Best wishes from myself and from the slovenian team to Richard Speiser for a speedy recovery.

tomazpozrl
The last I heard (at the last jury meeting) was that he has a broken leg, dislocated shoulder and a foot injury. But I'm not 100% sure if I understood the lady doctor correctly.
iris123
I see on speedway.org that he has a dislocated shoulder and hip and some bone from the hip is also broken....and possibly more injuries. And that he had €1,000 and papers stolen from his van....and a few others had things stolen as well ....and today is his birthday!!!!! tomazpozrl
Yes, I've heard about that too. There were apparenlty major problems with the security at the parking area where riders had their vans parked. Speiser's van was broken into during the practice, and someone tried to broke into Roland Kovacs' van during the meeting.

KFCBaby
Thank you Tomazpozrl. Very interesting. Nasty looking crash for Spieser. Shame that Germany did not get through, I was looking forward to seeing Smoli' again at the Showground. Is that the second or third year that Germany have lost out on a run-off? Anders
Is that the second or third year that Germany have lost out on a run-off? From 2001 and forward, it's the second time. Last year, Matej Ferjan beat Tobias Kroner in the run-off to take Hungary to the World Cup.
