Scunny Stag
Sorry for double posting but I thought that as this practice was one week before the British Under-15 Championship round at Scunthorpe then it ought to also be posted on here. I know it's a while away but the next open practice at Scunthorpe is on Saturday 25th April but one hour earlier than usual (12-4pm and not 1-5pm) to allow some officials to get to Stoke for a meeting afterwards. Of course there is the amateur meeting before then on 11th April and there are currently spaces available in all classes (Open, Support, youth 500 and Youth 250). The price for the open practice is £35, including for sidecars, grass track bikes, short track bikes and sand racers (£25 for riders who are aged 14 and under (and not riders aged 15 who are still eligible for the British U-15 championships - sorry we have to draw the line somewhere)). Please note the mini-track session with Wayne Carter on the same day is fully booked. Please see separate thread or www.scunthorpespeedway.com for future dates. For anyone who likes to plan ahead the open practice dates this year are set to be on Saturday 25th April, Saturday 30th May, Saturday 20th June, Sunday 12th July, Sunday 16th August, Sunday 13th September, Sunday 11th October before the weekly winter sessions recommence. Amateur meetings are on Saturday 11th April, Saturday 9th May, Sunday 7th June, Sunday 5th July, Saturday 1st August, Saturday 29th August, Saturday 26th September, Saturday 17th October. As always we have: - full medical cover provide by British Red Cross - track spares van - free day licenses. No licenses of any description required. Just sign-on on the day for free. - cafe serving hot and cold drinks and a limited range of food - riders of all ages, abilities and confidence levels are welcome to attend and the club take great care to ensure that riders are grouped appropriately. We often have grass track riders, short trackers and both 1000cc and 500cc sidecars. - Advance bookings are not required but anyone is welcome to call or text me for the latest track/weather information on 07832-402167 For anyone who hasn't been before Scunthorpe's 285m track lies just one mile to the north of Scunthorpe on the road to Normanby Hall Country Park. Whatever direction you approach Scunthorpe from, you will pass the track entrance if you follow the signs for Normanby Hall. You can now just look out for North Lincolnshire's first wind turbines which are now just behind the track. For anyone using SatNav the postcode of the track is DN15 8QZ and is on Normanby Road.
