Gold Coast Silver Sash

Another great night's racing although the track was very dodgy at times mainly entering turn 3 for the solo's

Where was the original Silver Sash held? The Gold Coast also has The Laurels, courtesy of Gavin's previous association with Wimbledon, we only need The Internationale and the Daily Express Spring Classic now..

Gawd knows!! I can remember Len Silver had it in the early sixties: Ivor Brown had it for a while as did Jim Airey and Ivan had a mortgage on it for years!!

 

There's bound to be some Anorak on here who knows: I'll stickit in the History section!!

A couple of years late, I know, but if you look at THIS TABLE (½-way down the page,) you'll find them all, from its first introduction in the SAL of 1955 to the

last in 1969; - Eric Croft to Mr.Mauger - , together with pics of the different versions of the Sash over the period.
