John Leslie
The "entertainment" this year was the worst ever. The women with the huge balls were a bit different and entertaining for the first 2 minutes or so, but didn't do anything else except flip over whilst the balloons were being pulled down and allowed to float up, so it soon got boring. "Murder Queen" were dreadful. They were on a loser anyway because the sound system was so poor, but I reckon even with a good sound system to play their pre-recorded tapes, they'd still be bad. The crowd clearly hated them. (I don't know why anyone wants to be a Queen tribute act anyway. Freddie Mercury is the only poof who could mince about camply on a stage and be brilliantly entertaining. Anyone else who tries it just looks like an annoying poof mincing about camply). That nobody who sang that welsh song and the National Anthem was cack too. He's obviously local, cheap and the only person BSI know who can speak welsh. Choice of music played over the P.A. was rubbish too and did nothing to help the atmosphere. What a disappointment the Under 15s racing was too. The 500s got one race which was pretty impressive. Then on to the 250s, and that poor 10 year-old kid excluded for touching the tapes and sent home without turning a wheel on what should have been the biggest day of his life. HOW PATHETIC. The crash in the re-run was unfortunate. Then some pillock decides we've run out of time, so no more under 15s racing. TOTALLY PATHETIC. In future, give the kids three races each and cut out the other pre-meeting "entertainment"
fryit
What a crock of rubbish that pre meeting "entertainment" was!! Queen tribute band was described by the annoucer one time as "one of the worlds greatest tribute bands", he really needs to get out more often! I was enjoying the young lads race round on their 500 & 250's and let's face it, we want to go and see racing and it was great to see those lads going for it, what an experiance for them. I forget the name of lad that came off but I hope he is ok. Then to cut that junior racing short after the accident for that excuse for a singer and those bloody balloons was anoying, I understand they try to put on a mixture of entertainment but it was very poor. T.N.T.
Havent they had the live entertainment in the break before ? I came in late so all I saw all night in the way of entertainment was that Paul Childs who did the National Anthems ok, but the rest was a glorified kareoke. There are a number of celebrities that like to watch speedway, maybe next year they could get Tim Lovejoy, Graham Stuart, Richard Wright etc to have a penalty shoot out against former riders ? Think it may be cheaper too as many would just be happy to be there free of charge. The White Start Girl last night can always do dancing next year, I will be glad to polish the pole
MattK
We arrived at the stadium just after quarter to five. Sounds like it was perfect timing
spook
Oh dear...... Craiggy boy just came down for a midnight snack and I said it is confirmed as Killer Queen,he got all excited not listening as usual, listening to half a sentence and said The killers are at Cardiff?-(Who the hell are the killers?-Nevs) and started singing are we human and jumping around the room (this from an almost 18 year old)!!!-I then explained it is a Queen tribute band and he has just said-you got me all excited then-Why do they get such crap people are they tight with their money or something? Only decent time they had something on at Cardiff was when they had the x factor lot on with Ray!!! Very sad lad is my son -STS lot feel free to take the mickey at anytime when you meet up with him at Cardiff again. Especially this snap with his hero Billy Hamill way back in 2004 at the GP long before he discovered turbo sliders. haha! just seen this Nevs that camera has been worth its weight in gold Seen in Star that along with Queen Tribute band we'll have heliospheres there too......I can say these are great to watch as have seen them at a concert that MUSE did Wembley Stadium see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KeNKtDsBSeY the difference with the Muse spheres though is that they were thrown into the crowd which has to be a lot more fun ....... although in Paris they were all killed by cigarettes within 10 minutes

So when that young lad came off they all had to come running out of the pits.

We had our own Stavrous Flattley on lower tier third bend, just as meeting started they started playing that greek music and he was a spitting image and whipped his top off doing crazy dancing, very funny. shalefan
Well, arrived when these people were on the stage trying to sing like the Great group Queen. How bloody poor were they, shocking, I hope the organisers are looking into this thead and taking note. If thats the best they can come up with then forget the entertainment reduce the prices and just get on with the nights racing. Only been to 3 Cardiff's and this was by far the worst for so called entertainment. Who the hell is the guy that sung the anthems, i know he has sung them in the past to but does he only come out for the GB SGP, you never see or hear of him for from one year to the next. I also think our National Anthem was to short, the welsh one seemed to go on for bloody ages.
Steve Shovlar
Tom Jones was close by at Glastonbury. Surely it wouldn't have cost "over the top" to have helicoptered him in as guest of honor, got him to sing the National anthems and Delilah before flying him back? Exactly one year after his last booking he is back by popular demand! Also agree about that dire welsh song. Let's cut it out. It was the British Grand Prix and we only needed the British National Anthem. When Freddie Williams won the World title they played God Save the King/Queen; and it will be the same it we ever get another British World Champion from Wales. We had a World Cup round at Poole once, But we didn't play the theme from Hoawrd's Way.

Swifty
I was totally gutted for them. Yeah really gutted for the young lad excluded for touching the tapes, how pathetic, if it was my son I would have turned him round at the pit gate and sent him back... they want to encourage young british riders.. Any news on that lad who got taken away in the ambulance?

Seb the Snail
With the possible exception of a bushy moustache that even Dietbowers would have been proud of, the "Queen" tribute were a very poor imitation of the real thing. Even the "Wayne's World" was a bit closer to the mark, and at least it was funny! I'm not sure why we need a "warm up act" anyway to be honest. I go to Cardiff to have a couple of light ales, to watch some speedway and catch up with a few friendly faces. Or maybe that's just me? Vixter
I was really dissappointed with the Queen effort. The whole thing was pants - even Freddie's teeth looked stuck on!!!
