loyal royal
I've just been reading Jeff Scott's " Shifting Shale" & it appears that BSI used a "Queen Tribute" band at their leg of the 2006 play off final at Reading The book gives the very honest impression that the band we're utter pish & couldn't even sing in tune. Please don't tell me BSI have brought these Goons back. They werent even that good !

The ones that aren't still in the pub you mean They'll have to shout " Scaramouche , Scaramouche will you do the fandango " pretty loud for me to hear them . Nevs
Oh dear...... Craiggy boy just came down for a midnight snack and I said it is confirmed as Killer Queen,he got all excited not listening as usual, listening to half a sentence and said The killers are at Cardiff?-(Who the hell are the killers?-Nevs) and started singing are we human and jumping around the room (this from an almost 18 year old)!!!-I then explained it is a Queen tribute band and he has just said-you got me all excited then-Why do they get such crap people are they tight with their money or something? Only decent time they had something on at Cardiff was when they had the x factor lot on with Ray!!! Very sad lad is my son -STS lot feel free to take the mickey at anytime when you meet up with him at Cardiff again. Especially this snap with his hero Billy Hamill way back in 2004 at the GP long before he discovered turbo sliders. BigFatDave
If you haven't seen Heliospheres before you're in for a treat - they did the Arafura Games opening in Darwin in '07 and were at the Treasury Gardens venue at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne in '06. Snyper1010
Squalls plan sounded the best if you ask me. 1) There was and only ever will be one Queen/Freddie Mercury so a tribute band i do not want to hear. 2) Why the hell would you want to hang from a giant helium balloon and do flips? Ahhh i dunno seems the entertainment is a side of Cardiff that is seriously lacking.
BigFatDave
2) Why the hell would you want to hang from a giant helium balloon and do flips? Well its like this cuz: hang on, lets just smoke this and snort this and eat this (no- the other side of the Mushroom!) and maybe you'll get the picture. Blurred innit! kluson
This year was really poor, heliospheres, ????? After a minute or two that was just boring, what is so clever about that! Killer Queen -- Ha ha ha -- Pathetic !!, Some tribute bands are OK if you like that sort of thing, but the idea of trying to look like Queen, ho ho ho. It would have better if they just played the music well, Which they didn't! They were lousy! -- Were they miming, it looked like it but why mime to bum notes. I thought also they were not well received by the crowd, no wonder everyone went to the bar for Beer! Why is the music so rubbish during the event and why so loud? hokey cokey , ......we love speedway, we love speedway .., I think we know, that's why we were there. Why do the organizers think we would love a poor pathetic version of Queen and some people hanging from Baloons..... ????????????

Entered the stadium with a couple of girls hanging under some balloons. Thought, "hmm that looks interesting, especially if they opened the roof and thw two guys unterthered themselves. Next stop 35,000 feet? Already said 90% of the music was childish rubbish. They need some professional guys in there to get the crowd going. Some of the stuff was OK but playing Kosac music when Emil cae out was embarressing in the extreme. As for Killer Queen, someone whould have killed them, and this bloke Childs must be the resident Stadium solo singer when the organisers haven't booked a star for the anthems. I am sure i saw him selling hot dogs beforehand and sweeping up after, like something out of the Phoenix Club ! Entertainment was CRAP ! Who the hell thinks of these things ? wotnoaj
Maybe next year they can scrap all the cheesy music and balloon acrobats and just put a boxing ring in the centre green. First up: Nicki.P v Referee, Second on: Scott v Emil and then the big one : Snyper v Superace!
