Top Tier At Cardiff Sold Out?

Recommended Posts

OK, I guess I know the real answer to this before I ask, but I'd like to know if anyone else has had a similar reaction from the Cardiff ticket office.

I wanted two seats in U30........that's the block on the top tier on the back straight, opposite the gate.

Told that was sold out.

Then I started working left and right along the blocks............and was informed that the WHOLE top tier on that side of the track (U27-U33) was sold out. When I stopped laughing, the guy on the phone did admit that some of those blocks might be 'reservations' ,as he put it. Still, he couldn't sell me two tickets.

So,nearly four months before the event the organisers dictating that certain advertised priced seats are 'unavailable'.

Not a major problem when you can buy on the day, anyway!......but I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience?.........it hasn't happened to me before.

I'm guessing, and it really is a guess, that this is the area that has been reserved for those trading their tickets from Germany last year.

I am taking my free tickets for Cardiff from the German fiasco and i was told that we will be sitting in the upper tier on the start/finish line they have put 3 blocks aside for it.We sat in the same seats after the Gothenburg call off years ago so they have not saved them for the other side of the stadium

I tried to book tickets in U30, U31 & U32 and was told that there was nothing available in those blocks, this was only on the 27th February. I have managed to get block U28. I was told by ticket master and the number that is in the speedway star that no tickets were available in those blocks. I was shocked that the upper tear along the back straight was more or less sold out unless you got your tickets near to the 3rd bend on between the 3rd & 4th bend. I also have never experienced this problem before.

Buy a cheap ticket for the top tier and then go and sit where ever you like, nobody stops you. Actually, they stops Nevs but I helped out there :D I think it was "quick Nevs, this way, run".

Aint that right!!! :P

Yeah sort of- then jump over a fair few rows of seats. Bleedin security, the way he spoke to me you would have thought we were trying to escape from East Germany about 25 years ago!! He said Go and sit back down in the seats you have been allocated.

Maybe using your stealth skills again this year SCB :P

It was hardly standing room only the seats we were allocated in the first place--all we wanted to do was go and chat with others!!!

Bleedin jobsworth-he was on the next set of steps to the left, lurking,I think we must have been his only "customers" that day-He probably had a chip on his shoulder he was not allocated a main stair way or summit.

Bet he went home and told his missus he had had a stressful day and had had to put a few Exeter fans firmly in their place.....

I watched the fairies one year walk right the way round the stadium through the seats from Bend 4 to Bend 2 .... they had to keep going up and down the chairs to get where they want to go ..................... right up with the pigeons oh and Shaun :wink:

  • 1 month later...

Thought I should post update on my original post..................if anyone is interested??

After being repeatedly told both via the GP site, and by telephone that the back straight upper tier was sold out (see original post)...........miraculously seats are suddenly available.

BSI have consented to take my hard earned cash, and grant me seats in the block that I originally tried to book weeks ago.

Pleased naturally, but p*ss*d off with yet another PR disaster from speedway's promoters (in this case not the BSPA......at least it shows BSI can cock things up, too.) If I had been a 'casual' fan I would probably have given up and used my money for something else.
