Be careful there Anders.Stralsund is right on the coast and anyway a tourist attraction,so in August could be very busy........there are B&B's just across the road from the track..... Laser558
Can someone let me know if any tracks operate in Southern Germany (within reasonable distance of Friedrichshafen) and are any meetings being held in the week commencing the 4th July? Bavarian
Can someone let me know if any tracks operate in Southern Germany (within reasonable distance of Friedrichshafen) and are any meetings being held in the week commencing the 4th July? No there is nothing. Diedenbergen runs a European Ch'ship semi on Sunday, July 5, but Diedenbergen is in the Frankfurt area in central Germany, that's a long way from Friedrichshafen. I wouldn't bother, rather stay at Lake Bodensee!

The weather forecast for next week looks dire. Hoping to do a bit of sight seeing around the black forest etc so presume its best to hire a car or does public transport go to such places from Bodensee? iris123
That's good to hear. We will be seeing both Kevin Wölbert and Max Dilger at Armadale next week (Friday 31st July) for the Scottish Open. I heard this a couple of days back.I should have a couple of fotos in the proggie Look forward to seeing how they both go.My favourite is Kevin, but maybe Max can pull of a surprise.I would love to see Kevin in the PL.I do think that is what he needs at this stage of his career, even if it means i won't get to see him as much in Denmark maybe.....not sure what sort of track Armadale is(but then you might not be there long),but i have seen Kevin ride very well at smallish and big tracks
iris123
The Bundesliga comes to town again..... Last weekend brokstedt had a promotional day in local Neumünster with Egon Müller and Matten Kröger among the people helping promote the speedway. For this sundays meeting all residents of Brokstedt will be able to gain free entry for the meeting. line-up: Brokstedt Mads Korneliussen(DK) Joonas Kylmäkorpi(Fin) Matten Kröger Stephan Katt Kristian Drossmann Landshut Martin Smolinski Tobi Kroner Richard Speiser Jörg Tebbe Max Dilger Should be a tough close meeting.Brokstedt have a weak link in the U21 spot.Obviously the sad accident to Sönke Petersen means Brokstedt have lost their best junior. But then young star Huckenbeck is also out injured and then last weekend young Sebastian Eckerle also got injured,so Drossmann has been drafted into the side.A lot will depend on what sort of form Matten and Catman find themselves in.At the last home meeting they only really went well when riding together.Daniel Nermark was down to replace the injured Charlie Gjedde. But there was a bit of conroversy with Nermark at the last home meeting, when he turned down the opportunity to train and then caused some problems with team mate Kröger. So maybe Joonas coming into the team might be an improvement. iris123
Result from today(pretty boring)Bundesliga meeting.... BROKSTEDT 39 1 Mads Korneliussen (3,1,6!,2,F,-) - 12 2 Joonas Kylmäkorpi (1,1,2,3,3,1*,2) - 13+1 3 Matthias Kröger (e.f,0,0,1,2,3) - 6 4 Stephan Katt (2,1*,1*,3,1*,0) - 8+3 5 Kristian Droßmann (0,-,0,0,0) - 0 LANDSHUT 48 6 Martin Smolinski (2,3,3,3,3,3) - 17 7 Tobias Kroner (0,2*,3,2,2*,1) - 10+2 8 Richard Speiser (3,2*,2,0,0,1*) - 8+2 9 Jörg Tebbe (1,0,0,1,1*) - 3+1 10 Max Dilger (3,1*,2,2,2) - 10+1 Mads fell quite harmlessly so it seemed, but hurt his neck and had to be taken off in an ambulance. But i heard after that he is ok.He was trying to make up ground and pass Tebbe after starting off 10m or whatever it is for breaking the tapes.Joonas was the most exciting rider going round the boards.Poor start from Matten who's bike packed up when on a 5-1 with Katt(i think) can't get used to this strange system of having one team with red + white helmet colour and the other with blue and yellow!!!!!! Smoli was the class rider though, but really most heats were won in the first 10 metres or so...... And another for the "Famous people who go to speedway"....former Bayern Munich and Germany star Paul Breitner was in attendance today! Anders
can't get used to this strange system of having one team with red + white helmet colour and the other with blue and yellow!!!!!! What? Oh, dear... I wonder if the different leagues are competing with each other of having the most stupid rule? Well, better get my mind set before the Bundesliga meeting on the 21st, which I'll be attending.

You are going to Güstrow as well as Stralsund?I might see you at one or both.I met the Stralsund press boss today and told him there might be a few Swedish fans at the meeting. Like you say....i don't know where they come up with these ideas. It has caused lots of German fans problems........There is a universal system for helmet colours in team events........but they have to come up with something else!!!!!And it isn't as if one team had the red + white for the whole meeting.....they swap every heat!!!!! Anders
You are going to Güstrow as well as Stralsund? Yes, both. Güstrow on Friday, Stralsund on Saturday and Holsted on Sunday for the European U19 Team Final. Oh, that's an even worse kind of screw-up! It's necessary to change red/blue for white/yellow in a 3 team meeting, that's a given fact, but to change helmet colours between the teams for a 2 team meeting (or 4 team meeting), I can't see the point. Hmmm....so we might meet up 3 times,as i am going to Holsted as well Well,i could understand slightly, though not really if it was 100% down to gate positions. But the riders that have red-white can swap gates if the wish, but still keep the original helmet colours....... Speedway is best watched without understanding the reasons for the rules

Bavarian
hey iris, this is very strange to hear about the changing helmet colours at Brokstedt. Are they idiots or what? I know that some people want to keep the colours indicating the starting positions, but this is total nonsense in a team versus team match. All they do is confuse everyone who is watching. Can't they see that they are doing the sport no good at all with this stupid behaviour? I was at Landshut the other week for the Bundesliga match between the Devils and the Wolves, big crowd of nearly 3,000 and great atmosphere, and the helmet colour thing was done the right way there without any hickups as the home team riders wore red and blue and the visitors white and yellow/black for the whole meeting. No wonder that some clubs are more able than others to convince their paying public of the team versus team idea for the league. At Landshut the fans are all behind this, while it seems Brokstedt and Gustrow struggle to get the product across in a proper form. No wonder the people there are confused and don't like it, if the organisers keep making mistakes such as this helmet colours chaos.
