British U15 Championship 2009

Absolutley gutted to have to miss these rounds. Still recovering from the broken collar bone I got when I had such a simple crash at Scunthorpe on Feb 1st.I have been told it will be the end of July before I can start racing again  - yes, it was a bad break! After riding at Cardiff last year  , I am really upset that I have to miss most of this season. Hoping to get back on a bike as soon as I get clearance from the specialist at the hospital.

That's tough news, Lloyd. Keep your chin up and all the best for a speedy recovery..

Regards to your Dad..: "The Master of Plough Lane"...

Get Well Soon, Lloyd and for the U15 fans reading this,...Have a look at the WSRA (World Speedway Riders' Association) website, www.world-sra.org.uk to see a great team photo from the Sheffield Bonanza of the boys along with team manager, # Name Removed # and former double World Champion, Freddie Williams.

Go to the website, click onto "What's New" and have a look at the Sheffiled Bonanza story.

Hi Lloyd,

So sorry to hear that your recovery isn't going well. You were riding so well prior to the crash and it was good to see you enjoying yourself.

Keep your chin up though because you are still very young and have a lot of years riding ahead of you. Just look how long your dad has kept going

Cheers,

Richard

Thanks everyone and i hope to be back ride as soon as possible.

How do the Under 15's get into the Championship series? Are they selected? Do they nominate? or is it open to anyone?

Is this the best Under 15 riders or the best without a league spot?

Is it possible for someone to ride in selected meetings or do they have to do the whole series?

Riders are by entry. It is open to all those who qualify by the age, rulings, engine size (250 or 500) etc.

E-mail me Lee and I will answer your questions that way. Were you considering entering Nick when you are here ?

that cant be right as look at all the dates of births then. as some arent the right age group according to the hand book rules.

Does anyone know what has happened to Marc Owen? haven't seen his name mentioned any where lately.

He broke his scaphoid at Newport a short while back. He is due to have the plaster off this Friday and will be back in action asap. He was not contesting the Under 15 championships this year and is looking forward to August when he reaches the grand old age of 15 and is eligible to ride in the National League. He has been riding Academy matches and in second halves at various tracks.

I live in Workington and haven't seen anything locally about a start date or even confirmation of this meeting

And with Comets racing that same day and the night before at Derwent Park v Berwick it will hit crowd numbers...can anyone else confirm it is definitely on?

The meeting is scheduled to take place at Northside during the day on Saturday 19th September. It will finish in plenty of time for people to get to Derwent Park for the mouthwatering clash with King's Lynn, as I understand that some of the track staff will be working at both venues.

Probably as the Northside organisers seem to like to keep things to themselves. Have you seen any practices on Scunny Stags list recently?

Drive past Derwent Park & Tesco on left, and follow road down to the roundabout. Straight across at roundabout, where you are bound to see the venue signposted. If memory serves me right, I believe E-on is on the corner where you turn in, but I'm not 100% sure on that.

There must be a Worky fan reading this who can provide exact directions for you.

Parsnips, will you be at Northside? I've seen the rounds at Scunny and King's Lynn and there's been some good racing. See you there?

In the meantime, thanks for the instructions Mimmo, if anyone has got exact directions, it would be much appreciated.

All the best

Rob
