Would like to know where he was in 88 and 89? I think he was slightly under rated as a rider although I enjoyed watching him round the outside when there was more dirt on the tracks. In those days he seemed quite tall as a rider, can anyone remember?

I appreciate your help and I think he did ride for Wimbledon in those 2 years! At this time of year neither of us want to visit our respective garages, me because I bake in there from what has been a very hot summer, and you probably freeze in yours !! Robbie B
Roger is a true Legend of Wimbledon speedway, giving many years of great service, to the club. I still remember his great cut-backs on the 3rd-4th bends, of the last lap of the race, he caught out many a great rider, including Ole Olsen. chunky
QUOTE (Robbie B @ Feb 1 2009, 05:55 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I still remember his great cut-backs on the 3rd-4th bends, of the last lap of the race, he caught out many a great rider, including Ole Olsen. I think the best against Olsen was when Roger and Eddie switched on the first and second bends against him and Shirra, and we got a last heat 5-1 to draw the match. How about the night he beat Collins from the back twice? Steve Edited February 2, 2009 by chunky
