i saw proctor in the pits when ricky was making his speech and he looked like he was crying and sean wilson was calming him down.

Awwwww bless! Had a face like a smacked backside when he came out of the pits, hope someone returned his dummy

Been no home track advantage in the 2 meetings Redcar have won at Sheffield this year has there, Ty managed to keep all his toys in the pram then yet when it's not gone his way..

Too true and there is nothing wrong with a bit of confident arrogance, all true winners have it!

Both Ward and Proctor will go onto great things in this sport baring injury because of it.

Exactly.

Thats why in years to come Ward and Proctor will be riding high in the EL while their British counterparts in the PL have yet another season of PL mediocrity.

OH DEARY DEARY ME, is this same Ty Proctor, who was talking it large in the Redcar local press how he was going to win the meeting, funny I don't recall him mentioning Ricky Ashworth having home advantage.

I think young Proctor needs to put his dummy back firmly in his mouth, and yes very much sour grapes.

Cockyness and starting your post like your a taxi driver from another country does not suit you SK :P

Nothing to with arrogance, Mr Proctor talked it large in the Redcar press how he was going to win, nothing wrong with that very confident lad,but its excuses afterwards that gets me, if your gonna talk it large then don't come back with the excuses.

What he actually said was "I’m going into this to win it. If I lose this I will be very disappointed" - as in he was AIMING to win it, not that he was GOING to win it. Optimism and arrogance are two completely different things.

Fair enough not quite my style, and you know as well as I do I rate young Ty, and did have him a possible winner, but he did say that he was going to win in the local Redcar press, if he had said nothing or like Darcy Ward if I have got out of the gate quicker I would have caught him, would have been easier to accept, but bang on about home advantage to me is a bit feeble.

On the day three riders stood out, Ricky Ashworth, Darcy Ward and Ty Proctor, on the day anyone of those three would have been worthy winners, its was down to that one race in the final, and really down to who got out of the first, and then held their nerve in the race. Luckily that was Ricky Ashworth, but it could have easily been Ty Proctor or Darcy Ward.

Okay then fair enough, I still have a splitting headache and when I talk I sound like Mickey Mouse on helium, and I am starting to sound like a certain forum member from Edinburgh, and my old mate Drac says is not my style, I enjoyed the day,and if Ty Proctor wants to believe home advantage played a part then so be it.

Was going to post something very similar but you have summed it up almost perfectly.

Sure Darcy (and Proctor by the sound of it) need to learn how to lose with a little more grace, but I wish one or two Brits were more like that. If our riders hated losing as much we might be a little better as a nation.

To be fair anyone who watches Ashworth at Sheffield will know he can be of similar ilk, he often sulks in a big way when he doesn't win. I put Proctor and Wards sulks down to their youth, however I've begun to notice that even a certain Mr Adams can be a sore loser on occasion. I notice tonight he didn't offer congratulations (from what I could see) to opposition riders who beat him.

There's nothing wrong with hating losing, I hate it intensly that my side have lost to Wolverhampton tonight in the pay offs but instead of finding all manner of excuses, whinging about Pete Adams shocking haircut, or Tai Woffindens pathetic histrionics in heat 15, I will simply say we were beaten fair and square by a very good team who deserve their place in the final!

I must admit spinny my voice has not been at it's best today either. Offered my congrats to a certain Mr Ward lat night and got blanked - charming  I enjoyed the day immensely and got time to catch up with Ricky, Coops, Wee Sean & Birko to name but a few. It will live long in this old memory - oh and before I forget - WELL DONE RICKY, again!

As a tiger brilliant end to a brilliant day really enjoyed the meeting & Ricky did everything to win. I honestly thought it was going to be Darcey ward on the day but Ricky came up trumps. Although Ricky was the main man for me the rider of the day was David Howe i thought he rode exceptionally well to say he wasnt even meant to be in the meeting.

Ricky deserved that without a doubt all this talk of home track in my eyes is nonesense you've got the the cream of the crop riding their & all wanting to win. The one thing that really annoyed me about that meeting was that bloody raving idiot on that pink bike with his sweeping brush. Surely they could have got someone more entertaining than him i would have sooner gone up the road to Hillsbourgh & watch that irish bank holiday play football. He was like watching a tin of paint dry purple helmets next year much more entertaining.

Si.

Well didn't it? Come on!

Most Sheffield supporters have been complaining that Ricky isn't a true number 1 for most of the season.

He averages over 9 at home and only about 7 away!

I rest my case.

How may races did Proctor win? he was allways going to finnish behind Ward and allways will. I REST MY CASE. history books will say Ricky Ashworth 2009 plrc champion get in there........

I'm not bothered who wins just sick and tired of the home team/rider winning on their home track more often than not(PLRC, 4TTT etc), its boring, not good for the sports credability and quite frankly a waste of time and money traveling to these events.

GER IN THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do and will continue to do so until these events are held at neutral tracks.

Would love to hand my money over to speedway and what I could have spent at Sheffield for the PLRC and Workington for the 4TTT is burning a massive hole in my pocket but I won't give it away to the short sighted custodians of the so called 'Super 7'.
