asturmer
It is common knowledge that upright Goddens were really hard to turn left ( I just restored one and am afraid to ride it!) I am trying to remember who used Godden machinery and to date can recall Hans Nielsen, Shawn Moran, Mike Ferreira, Barney Kennett to name the ones I watched. Just staying on one for 4 laps makes them superstars, are there any other riders who rode these fiery machines?
Sotonian
Malcolm Simmons did, and may have been the first to, in 1979/80.
stevehone
i did at the end of 1987 first night using it i won a race , then in my next i picked up massive drive out of 2nd turn and broke both wrists and my arm very powerful engine but hard to ride after coming from Weslake. another well known Godden rider was Simon Wigg
WIE-JA
Rick Millar rode them in '89 I think. Simon Cross had several seasons on them. Paul Fry rode them in his early days at Long Eaton. Stephan Davies, Scott Smith are others I can think of. Kelvin Tatum used them in '88. The problem was they were more of a longtrack engine and provided too much power, not enough rideabilty for speedway. Very well built and reliable engines though and Godden frame kits were very popular.
Phlipphlopp
Steve ''frog'' Regeling also rode them, he didnt have probs turning left on them. Thinking about it though , none of them actually turn left do they !!!!!!!!!!!

He seems to have disappeared in to the sugar canes of northern Queensland since retirement!
stevehone
Alan Rivett was another at Exeter that used a Godden, he's sitting on one in the picture

asturmer
Alan Rivett was another at Exeter that used a Godden, he's sitting on one in the picture Alan Rivett competed in a meeting in Perth recently and I was impressed! First he drove from Queensland to Perth, like driving from Moscow to London, then he impressed and just missed a place in the final, then he was spectacular in the races and finally he turned out to be 52 years old . You can just about recognise him in the photo as he is completely bald now like many of us!!

Very good rider and here is a photo in the tradition of the WATigerman. Here Slight difference with that of WT- this is sharp: Never got around to using blurred filters myself. Well at least not in the photos we get to see, eh Jim? You mean the old box Brownie had any other kind? Thanks Jim. Be assured I will of course treat your kind words with the respect they deserve. Ripping Yarns
I think Kenny Carter was riding a Godden when he won the British final with a broken leg in 1984. Possibly retaining it on a Godden in 85.
madbiker
Glenn Doyle rode a GR500 very well too, I actually bought hm the engine, went far better when I then got him the wiggly diamond to go with it, it never suited the comet frame he had before.
