Deano
Who's to say Polish speedway is any better? It's still four bikes going around and around?
marcel
hate soaps so its only other thing to watch! and i think its pretty well known polish speedway is more hard fought and better to watch. The el on sky last year was shockingly bad..
HenryW
Who's to say Polish speedway is any better? It's still four bikes going around and around? People who have watched it Despite it still being four bikes going around and around, they have this strange tendency to change the order that they are in as they go around! You've been taking too much notice of what Subedei says. I didn't think the E.L. shown last year was too bad at all - much better than the season before. Snyper1010
There was a huge number of terribly boring EL meetings last season total embarresment to speedway.
Najjer
You've been taking too much notice of what Subedei says. To be fair to him, he was always spot on - I watched alot of Polish Speedway last season and it was fantastic. Totally different from British Speedway, a whole different outlook on things. However, both Polish and British Speedway have their pluses and minus' - I watch both, and enjoy both.
Snyper1010
What i dont get is there is a huge gulf in excitement and racing style yet theres alot of riders compete in both leagues so why is it that there riding style changes just because they change there race jacket

I've seen Leszno on the telly and there seems umpteen racing lines , likewise Bydgoszcz is universally accepted as the most entertaining GP normally . Then you see some EL tracks and they're as bald as a coot .
Najjer
Not only that, you don't see Jason Crump about a lap ahead of riders like James Brundle. Instead you got equally spread races where the competition is so intense, that anyone could win. There is alot more pressure on in Poland, with the stakes alot higher - I guess that gives riders even more a boost and desire to win. Snyper1010
The EL is a complete sham no wonder very few people are interested in speedway.
andrewrunagall
The EL is a complete sham no wonder very few people are interested in speedway. Although, yes, I am a Rye House fan, but by far the best meeting was Reading Vs. Rye House last season. Reason: final score 46:45 is only half the story, it looked like we were down and out but we fought back, but heat 14 decided it, abd OysterCard's EF in heat 15 was the final twist. But back to the subject, should Polish Speedway make it onto Setanta, I would watch. It's a shame that Sky Sports has a stranglehold on ALL British Speedway being shown live in the UK. Quite, but being big tracks they can get pretty strung out too.
spartan
Riders get strung out on our tidlers too. Polish speedway is light years better than the elite league and as the tracks are larger they can put more dirt down. without it becoming dangerousl

Its a shame Sky are too tight fisted to put any real investment into speedway. They spend a fortune on cricket a complete waste of time sport that will put you to sleep in seconds and has even more confusing rules than speedway does. I would like to see more speedway meetings from the EL and PL being shown on Sky on a more regular basis and more money being put into both leagues by them. More people watch Cricket than Speedway on sky, so of course they are going to put more money into cricket. I'm sure some cricket fans feel the same way about speedway as you do about cricket. Sky is very football dominated, then they have cricket, golf and tennis, leaving speedway unfortunatly down the pecking order. "I would like to see more speedway meetings from the EL and PL being shown on Sky on a more regular basis and more money being put into both leagues by them" Speedway isn't a big enough sport to be shown 2/3 times per week on sky, even if you throw money at it
Snyper1010
How is it not big enough? they could have the Monday night speedway as usual and show a PL meeting either Fri Sat or Sun they have 3 channels dont forget. And ofcourse more people watch cricket on sky, thats because it is on more often everytime you go onto Sky there is a cricket match. Its a terrible sport. Plus in addition to racing why not have a speedway round up program. It could talk about speedway from CL, PL and EL and even take in some of the foreign leagues. It would be like a football style goals round up program with all the highlights and news.
