Seb the Snail
can you pay one the gate or is it ticket only You'll definitely be able to pay on the gate. Bring a hat and gloves; Blunsdon in March is like Moscow in January! I see that the draw is up on the official site: 1 Gjedde 2 Hampel 3 Pavlic 4 Harris 5 Sajfutdinov 6 Iversen 7 Adams 8 Holder 9 Bjerre 10 Kasprzak 11 Batchelor 12 Richardson 13 Pedersen N 14 Stead 15 Lindback 16 Korneliussen 17 Gathercole 18 Sweetman

Man in black
Stadium access and parking question Haven't been to Blunsdon since the middle of last season. At that time the roads and stadium access were in a right old mess due to the new road construction and the carpark seemed very restricted. Is it all sorted now? I'm hoping to get to the Jubilee meeting and don't want to get caught out!
Seb the Snail
The roads around the Abbey are still subject to roadworks but are definitely in less of a mess than they were last autumn. Just make sure that you come off the A419 at the Blunsdon exit and then follow the signs for the stadium. From the south of Swindon / M4, branch left off the main carriageway where the old Turnpike roundabout was. This is where most of the work is still ongoing. Keep to the right where the road splits and turn right again for Blunsdon at the lights. The stadium will be visible over to your left so just proceed straight on over one more set of lights until you reach the entrance. From the north of Swindon / M5 / Cirencester, branch left up the slip road for Blunsdon when you reach the top of the hill, then sharp right at the lights at the top of the sliproad (back over the main carriageway), keep in the right hand lane and go right again at the next lights. Once again the stadium entrance will now be on your left. I would expect that the club will use the nearby Park & Ride if there is a risk that the car park could overflow. I certainly wouldn't envisage a problem for anyone there with 45 minutes or so to spare.

gambitman
Is there any way to reach the Swindon rail station from the stadium after the event?
frigbo
Is there any way to reach the Swindon rail station from the stadium after the event? Swindon is a bit of a poo hole, but it does have taxis Seriously, a taxi is your only bet really, unless you can scrounge a lift.

Very eloquent, frigbo! I would expect a taxi from the stadium to the station to be just a shade under a tenner.

You'll find no argument with that here. Let's hope that the weather next Sunday evening is a bit different to tonight. It's absolutely pelting down in Blunsdon at the moment. The Cold Harbour, on the other side of the dual carriageway does surprisingly decent food and is not dear. http://www.swindonweb.com/coldharbour/ The much more expensive Blunsdon House Hotel is another 1/4 mile away. http://www.blunsdonhouse.co.uk/modx-0.9.5/BHH-Home-Page.html Wouldn't need to book in advance but recomend taking their number and ringing them on your mob when you are an hour away to guarantee avoiding a wait for a table.
