Ferndown Racer
From Swindon Website AUSTRALIAN sensation Chris Holder has been confirmed as the sixteenth and final rider to ride at Swindon's 60th Anniversary Celebration meeting. http://www.swindon-speedway.co.uk/name-New...-sid-1761.phtml Was Chris Holder not originally down to be riding at Dean Barker's Farewell? It would've made more sense to have his meeting on Eastbourne's regular Saturday night so that riders and supporters would be able to go to both if they wanted to. Hopefully Newport's meeting willl be in the early afternoon and Swindon will be early evening so that anyone with methanol withdrawl (like me) can go to both on the Sunday? Blazeaway
Nicki's inclusion guarantees my attendance. Can't wait.
Steve Shovlar
Will try and get along to this one. Pretty good lineup.
Sandie
Does the newport meeting start early enough for that to happen? Would love to do both. It was SCB 's suggestion so Im sure he has done the sums - he even added some time in the bar before departure!!! what a line up btw, the admission for this is 20 quid for adults, 15 for concessions, child 8, under 11's free Now that may be my down fall. I know its a good line up and worthy of a higher entrance but I didnt think of it. Off to find Lora's piggy bank now!!!!
colincooke
It's a great line-up but i shall still be honouring Darren & Sharon at Sheffield. Disappointing that both are on the same date tbh Edited January 14, 2009 by colincooke
bazaar3
Whats going on? No KevH and others slagging this meeting off......oh I guess it's just only happens to Poole's 60th meeting. Liked it in the speedway star when it said along the lines of 'Probably the best meeting of riders that has ever been seen at Blunsdon' to which was added later on by 'new signing Simon Stead will be in attendance'. Anyway, jokes aside I hope it's a good meeting because the Swindon faithful probably deserve it for putting up with the poor racing the fans said happened last season. DarrenCook
Bit disappointing to get only a filler like Holder - was hoping for a real GP star like Gollob, Crump or Andersen or a real crowd pleaser like Gafurov.

Main Man
Could be a day for two good open meetings close to each other then? Newport at 1pm for the Tim Stone Memorial, Prince of Wales Trophy then Swindon at 6pm. Puk and Mads are riding in both so there should be a steady stream of cars leaving Queensway Meadow on to the M4 to Swindon I would think. Two lots of methanol in one day to start the 2009 season --sounds good to me --how many are going to do the two meetings then ????

Me and Nikki - if the piggy bank can afford both, so early in the season SCB will also be doing both I understand
