Dutch & Belgian News 2009

Recommended Posts

Hellooooo all :approve:

Sorry for the bad amount of information about The Netherlands and Belgium in 2008, this year; 2009, will be better .

Well, lets start... with The Netherlands...

As some of you may now is that the track in Blijham is still not "approved" by the Dutch Federation... to me it's quite alot of bullsh*t... the KNMV is complaining about the fence.... imo they should better shut up and try to run some meetings. Confirmed dates for the Dutch Championship 2009:

30/05/2009 - Vledderveen

18/07/2009 - Veenoord

That's 2 rounds confirmed sofar, and it's January already! They've promised to run 6 meetings at least, alot of Dutch riders aren't very optimistic about this as the KNMV did promised alot more in the past . Anyways... they want 2 more rounds in Lelystad and they are talking with organisers in Germany.

Rumours are that the KNMV will add some kind of entry money; 20 euros per meeting. With the license costs of 185 euro it's all very expensive for these few meetings. And I won't start about the tracks we (I'm also going to ride) have to race..

As you might notice... I'm not very positive about speedway in The Netherlands....

Belgium....

With only 1 track in Belgium.... in Heusden-Zolder..... are they doing it pretty well. They've runned a round of the 2008 Dutch Championship... but the KNMV was complaining again and decided to not race in Belgium... imo alot of nonsense again as (so far I know) no-one had trouble with the track.

The Heusen-Zolder club has annouched a couple of dates for 2009 (all un-confirmed though):

18-19/04/2009 - Big Practice

07/06/2009 - Open Meeting

06/09/2009 - International Golden Helmet

.............

Watch this space for more information.... :approve:.

The situation must be bad in the Netherlands if what i read on inspeed about Germany is true.Apparently it seems that airfences are required from 2010(?) and a lot of clubs will struggle to afford one.Maybe the KNMV and the clubs can buy one that all can use? This could see a lot of clubs go out of business,if this is to be believed of course.

Anyway, good luck yourself with the start of a speedway career

If it's true about the air-fences... I hope that the KNMV will pay it... otherwise Dutch Speedway is over I'm afraid.

Forgot to add 2 more Dutch dates:

26/09/2009 - International Golden Helmet - Veenoord

29/12/2009 - Indoor Speedway - Exloo

This Group B are riders U21 or just riders weaker then in group A?

The B Group riders are weaker then the A Group.

2 (or 3) from the B Group will promote to the A Group and 2 (or 3) from the A Group wil degrade to the B Group for the next Round of the Dutch Championship (based on the result of the previous round).

Round 1, 22-03-09, Moorwinkelsdamm (Germany)

Round 2, 03-05-09, Lelystad (The Netherlands)

Round 3, 18-07-09, Veenoord (The Netherlands)

There was also supposed to be a round of the Dutch Championship at Vledderveen, but the federation cancelled that because the track is not suitable for speedway racing.
