Mateusz
Polish Motorcycle Federation have released Polish speedway fixtures for 2009. Detailed league calendars are be released in the first part of Dec but we already know there are going to be league matches after both Polish GPs - Leszno (9th May) and Bydgoszcz (17th Oct) The question is what matches and where... Surely they won't be held, respectively, at Leszno or Bydgoszcz but hopefully somewhere nearby. As for the Bydg GP weekend, it's the last league date so obviously it will be the second leg of the final (just like this year) http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/2008/11/...uje-5-kwietnia/ PS. And there's a league round after the SWC Final at Leszno as well ! PS 2. Road Trip 3.0, Rico? Edited November 24, 2008 by Mateusz

Mateusz
Earlier than I expected, Ekstraliga fixtures were released today! 2009 Ekstraliga fixtures Leszno GP weekend: 5th round - 10th May Wroclaw - Torun Gorzow - Czestochowa Gdansk - Leszno Bydgoszcz - Zielona Gora Leszno SWC weekend: 12th round - 19th July Zielona Gora - Leszno Gorzow - Gdansk Czestochowa - Wroclaw Torun - Bydgoszcz Bydgoszcz GP weekend: 18th October Ekstraliga Final, 2nd leg This is unless Bydgoszcz qualify for this final. If Bydgoszcz do (quite unlikely to happen tho'..), the final match will take place one week later. BigFatDave
Earlier than I expected, Ekstraliga fixtures were released today! 2009 Ekstraliga fixtures Leszno SWC weekend: 12th round - 19th July Zielona Gora - Leszno Gorzow - Gdansk Czestochowa - Wroclaw Torun - Bydgoszcz Which one of these would be closest to Leszno, Mateusz? (..................and which one would be the best to watch for a lonely Aussie far from home? )
Rico
Wow - some good derbies in that lot on SWC weekend - Zielona Gora is not too far from Leszno Dave and the atmosphere there would be incredible. Of course Mateusz will tell you the big one is when Bydgoszcz go to the posh new stadium in Torun Looks like a trip to Gorzow after the Leszno GP might be on the cards. Mateusz
Which one of these would be closest to Leszno, Mateusz? (..................and which one would be the best to watch for a lonely Aussie far from home? ) As Rico said, Zielona Gora v Leszno or Torun v Bydgoszcz. Both derby matches but the first one is closer to Leszno.

davidba
Is there a set time that league meetings start in Poland? Would the Easter Monday meetings be at different start times?Or does each club do their own thing, if so i need in particular to know the usual start tiems for Wroclaw and Bydgoszcz as i'm planning trips to early season meetings there. Thanks

Hazzman
Is there anything else in Poland? I am looking into the feasibility of a visit during Easter when Uni's off. Not a weak fixture now Gdansk and Bydgoszcz are back amongst the big boys.

Mateusz
For those asking earlier - the matches start between 4 pm and 8 pm. So the average time is 6 pm There's no rule when a match should start, it's all up to the clubs. Normally, in colder months (April, May & Sep, Oct) it's a bit ealier (around 4 pm) and in summer, when it's really hot here, a bit later (around 6 or 7 pm). The exact hour is usually released about 1,5 week before the meeting.

Is is easy to get a ticket for or can you just pay on the day?? Presume as its now an Ekstraliga match that more fans will turn up??

Is is easy to get a ticket for or can you just pay on the day?? Presume as its now an Ekstraliga match that more fans will turn up?? Most fans buy their tickets on the day of the event and there's never any problem with it. Just the queues may be a bit longer or shorter depending on the rival but I don't remember a sell out at a league match, even against Torun. So no worries
