horneymikh
Are you sure? yes they are, booked ours over the weekend. Had huge trouble getting my payment accepted, in the end had to go through the swiss RyanAir website (as its in English) as the English one was too busy, managed to get it done that way! horneymikh
Mark, we stayed there this year for 5 nights and had a great time, we didn't find that iot was a really lively place but there are enough bars to keep you going in Tyskie, Zwyiech or whatever your tipple is... For food I would recommend either Sami Suare (spelling?) or roosters (foods OK but the service is something else ) in the main square We stayed at the Hotel Focus which is about 40 minute walk from the main square, or a couple of quid in a taxi, its clean, cheap and the breakfast is pretty good, would recommend it, in fact already booked a couple of rooms there again for next october. Again, we had a great time, made loads of new mates and already looking forward to next October... hope this helps Mick

horneymikh
Hi Bruno, This year I paid in full in September at the end of my stay. The nightly rate is a bit more than advertised on their site as it is GP weekend, but its still good value. The hotel has emailed me to confirm my reservation for next year and have not asked for any money so I assume its the same deal We'd love to have a few beers with anyone staying there next year, there'l be 4 of us, me, the missus and her mum and dad, keep an eye out for us

Mark
Can anyone help a little bit more please ? The costs of flights & hotels are easy to find. But before we book it would be good to know what the cost of living is like in Poland for food, taxi's and beer. It is cheap or do we get a tourist shock How do you get from town to the stadium. Is it easy enough by public transport. Lastly the speedway. Are the cheap tickets Ok and do you get your own seat ? Any views on where to buy a seat ? thanks a lot

Any views on where to buy a seat ? thanks a lot I've got man flu, so can't go into much details her with links or anything but briefly... You won't get a tourist shock for food, taxi's or beer. It's not as cheap as when we first started going out there, but its defintely cheaper than weekend away you'll have in the Uk. Beer is maybe a £1.30 ish a pint.. prices vary tho. Still cheaper than here tho.. You'll obviusly spend more in a hotel bar, so get yourself out into town to find yourself a beer.. Food also cheaper.. and not that i'm a smoker, but from what i remember, cigarettes are a lot lot cheaper aswell. Taxi's are cheap and plentiful, but you shouldnt have much cause to use them anyway apart from maybe going to the stadium You could walk to the stadium from the town centre, but if it's your first time in Bydgoszcz, a taxi there will be best probably so you can figure out how to walk back. 5mins by taxi, 15/20mins walk back. The cheapest ticket at the speedway won't get your own seat, and for a newcomer, sitting on the backstraight or 3/4th bends can be a bit of a culture shock. The grandstand and Turns 1 and maybe 2 are numbered seats where you'll find things a little more restrained. Hope that helps.

Agreed with all of that, but the stadium is easy to find (get a free map from the tourist info place in the main square) and about a 20 minute walkfrom the main square. We sat on the 1-2 bend this year and the view of the track was pretty bad, we are going to try to get tickets for seats just before the first bend, that looked better. Its a great weekend away, would highly recommend it!

Yeh, i just thought that as newbie, the taxi might be easier - i've walked it many times, but have been more thana little tipsy each time, so i usually end up taking a different route every year
