DutchGrasstrack
Hi lads, Interesting news from the FIM Congress: - Long Track: heat format remains the same – 18 riders including two permanent wild-card riders for all the finals - Main change: point system in qualifying, semi-finals and final. - Titles: FIM Track Racing Sidecar World Championship 1000cc, Speedway 250cc Junior Gold Trophy (2010), Long Track 250cc Junior Gold Trophy (2010).- Technical: creation of a 250cc Speedway and Long Track Junior Gold Trophy for 2010. Age of riders: from 14 to 17 years – New measuring system for sound control - New homologated silencer for all Track Racing 500cc motorcycles. What's your opinion about it? I think it's a great step forward in the sport.. makes the step easier from a 80cc/125cc to a 500cc . The dates are also confirmed for 2009, I've put it all together, including the provisional UEM calendar: http://www.baansportfansite.nl/2009/ek%20wk/index.php
iris123
As ever good work Jesper,to put all that together. Nice that the Euro U19 Team Final, plus the Euro 80cc Championships are in Denmark. Also the World U21 Final at Gorzow is reachable for me Not too sure on the 250cc comp.Who will enter?I guess riders from CZ and Germany, maybe even GB.But i would have thought that depends on where it is held. Vicar
It is interesting where will be GP in 26.09. Maybe on the new stadium in Togliatti? And Emil with wild card there By the way - does anyone knows when will be announced who gain the 4 Wild Cards for season 2009?
DutchGrasstrack
And does someone got the rider allocations? As those were not posted on the FIM website.
TwoMinuteWarning
Somebody needs to get their act together. In different countries, juniors (under-16) are riding 80cc, 125cc, 250cc, and 500cc. Can't we have some standardisation? Shouldn't the FIM be define which age groups should be riding which cc? They did try Brian.During the World Ice Speedway Finals in Berlin there was a conference on this subject.Erik Gundersen was there. But there is no way the Scandinavians are going to change after all the money they have invested and of course all the success.I mean, look at who is on the 80cc route.Denmark,Sweden,Poland and Russia.Look at the success they are having. Then look at who is on the 250cc route.GB,Germany,Czecho.And compare the two
