Hellsgranny
I've got him down as a Brit Kev, if that's any help.
Engine man
I think Tom is still active in vintage riding. I also did a bit of that and met him a few years ago. By chance I also noticed a reference to him in an old Speedway Star, relating to him when he was at Glasgow.
KevH
Thanks for the replies folks, keep them coming. HG, when you say he's a Brit, do you know if he's English or Scottish?

Highlander
Tom is Scottish and is still a regular attender at both Edinburgh and Glasgow. I do believe that he still takes part in some German meetings. Best man to ask for further information is forum poster Topcat as he and tom are good friends. schumi
Ah, thanks. While you're here it'll save me a PM. Did averages always get worked out on league meetings only, or were other meetings included for some years? And which years have BPs been included in averages? KevH
Ah, thanks. While you're here it'll save me a PM. Did averages always get worked out on league meetings only, or were other meetings included for some years? And which years have BPs been included in averages? Green Sheet averages, since their introduction have always been exclusively league meetings, however many books and magazines carry averages calculated from all official meetings, which naturally include KO Cup matches, and in seasons such as 1987 for example, teams raced once in the league and once in the League Cup so all meetings are usually included. I believe the late Bryan Seery was the first statistician to calculate averages and always included bonus points .......it's only in the last year or two that bp's have been excluded from team building averages, but even now they are included in official averages. BOBBATH
You are right re Bryan Seery he is the father of speedway stats in my view-he was a real numbers guy-when did he pass away-surely he could not have been very old??
