Danish Webmaster
Wild cards confirmed: Matej Zagar, Emil Saifutdinov, Fredrik Lindgren & Scott Nicholls 1. Nicki Pedersen 2. Jason Crump 3. Tomasz Gollob 4. Greg Hancock 5. Hans Andersen 6. Leigh Adams 7. Andreas Jonsson 8. Rune Holta 9. Kenneth Bjerre 10. Sebastian Ułamek 11. Grzegorz Walasek 12. Matej Zagar 13. Emil Saifutdinov 14. Fredrik Lindgren 15. Scott Nicholls Source: Sportowe Fakty But is this for real ???? I would think that Scott Nicholls would get number 9 and Lindgren number 10. So I just wait and see how the officiel line-up will be, when it has been confirmed by BSI/IMG or FIM
RPNY
Well I have to say I wouldnt have ever thought Zagar would get a wild card. But I do not think it's such a bad decision. I dont really know how he's done this season, but I have to say Im a little ignorant to Speedway scene outside of BL, GP, SWC.. If I remeber rightly Zagar finished 7th in his first GP season & the the year after, he recieved a bad smack up after being rammed by Bjane in Copenhagen and never really recovered. I think he will certainly perform better than Dryml or KK did this year (not hard granted)
zonkers
Excuse my ignorance here, but was Tai considerd for the Gp's...? Think he will have more chance of doing well for us than Snotty ! Scott seems to crack under pressure, whereas Tai thrives on it? Is he not ready/too young, or didn't he want it? :-/

Rob B
Does this mean that Leigh Adams and Greg Hancock have confirmed they are continuing next year?
Liverstam
Shocking and poor decision to give ne of the wildcards to Zagar, who just doesn't have what it takes and will the the Dryml of 2009. Whilst Holder has missed out, and said himself he isn't yet setup for the series, he is clearly a far better rider than Zagar and Lindgren. Still, Poole fans could look at it selfishly and say there will be no GP distraction for any of our riders in 2009. But even a under prepared Holder would have been better than a fully prepared Zagar! Getting slighly tired of your biased views Steve. Wasn't long ago you called Smolinski a no-hoper, yet he was very close to beating Bjarne Pedersen at Bydgoszcz. Shouldn't that perhaps tell you something about Holder aswell. Bjarne is some kind of superstar at Poole, but he is actually a rather mediocre rider where it matters - ie everywhere else. And if Bjarne is very far away from cutting it with the best on proper tracks, maybe Holder would not cakewalk competition the likes of Zagar either. Great promise as Holder has, he is absolutely not "clearly a far better rider than Zagar and Lindgren" at this moment.

orion
I think it's high time that the gp wildcards were picked on British form only with pl form being the most important factor .
The Doctor...
It just wasn't his day, Orion! Had a dubious exclusion (according to someone on here who was there) and two efs. Just wasn't to be. His turn will come, I am sure. Erm.....Holder didnt ride at ZG in the Gp Challenge... I was very very drunk at that meeting, but think i would have noticed Holder riding. magnificentseven
I'd have put Holder in front of Lindgren I thought I had read somewhere that Jonsson had applied for a Polish licence and passport. This would mean that Sweden haven't got a rider in the automatic qualifiers. Hence Lindgren was almost certain to get a pick as the only Swede, and would be in front of Holder, no matter how much he may have deserved a spot, as there are already Aussies in the top 8. Holder was in the qualification round 4 the 21st June in Lonigo, were he finished 9th with 5 points.

IMO, probably the correct 4 (may have swapped Richardson for Nicholls) but then I don't just look at British results so what do I know?! pedropete
The last time I looked Chris Holder was 9th in the Polish averages, with Hans Andersen 14th and Scott Nicholls in 27th place! So it isn't just over here that Chris can do well. His time will come for the Gps, but I would like to see him get a couple of the Wild Cards as he hasn't got a seeded place. You have to remember he rode at reserve all season though, that contributed to his high average. Still very good tho.

I was at Zielona Gora for the GP challenge. And as for people saying at this stage Tai is better, how totally ridiculous. He doesnt even ride in the Elite League and is a reserve in Poland. Chris Brown
The only way to qualify for GPs should be on the track. Top 8 from previous year's GP + U21 Champ + top 6 from qualifiers + highest average home rider from the senior league of the staging country. Fairer all round and you qualify on merit. Wild cards? PAH Best suggestion I have seen for ages. Sadly thoough there are sound sponsirship and financial reason s why this would never happen. And there was us dreaming of a world championship that ANY rider had a chance of winning
