schumi
So Scott is officially out of the top 8, despite trying hard tonight. Will he get a nomination?

Blazeaway
Course he will. And deservedly so Behave! No chance not another year of charity for the beggar. He should do the decent thing and attempt to qualify. No Brits in the series next season.
iris123
He is the best rider outside of the top 8 not there. And a hell of a lot better than watching Walasek and Ulamek

Or his other two favourites going through the tapes or the 360 as he overcooks it again!
salty
Much as I dislike the idea of Nicholls getting another nomination, I guess he probably will. It appears from what we have read in the Speedway Star in the past that BSI want 2 Brits in the series. Even if they go with just 1 it is hard to see past Nicholls, who after all only finished 3 points off 8th spot. You can't pick Harris over Nicholls and it is far too early in his career for Tai. My punt for the nominations - Holder, Nicholls, Safjutdinov and Lindgren (feel sure they will want 2 Swedes in).

Yeah all true - problem is they will want 2 Brits, so who gets the nod over Nicholls? After him there's Bomber who proved this year he's not quite a GP rider and after that the gap is huge, for Tai it's too early, can't see Rico adding much to the series and the likes of Kennett, Bridger etc would be well well out of their depth. If Bomber gets the nod over someone such as, I dunno Sajfutdinov, even Lindgren then it's a disgrace, he does not deserve a place, quite frankly. schumi
Errrrrrr are you Subedei in disguise? No, but here's a quote from Subedei tonight, which I'm sure he won't mind me posting: "The beggar is back." (Wondering if jaybea will see the funny side. ) Edited October 18, 2008 by schumi

f-s-p
Looks like a good suggestion, but Holder wont get a nomination. Harris will get one instead. Nicholls is fine in my books for next year, but how on earth can Harris get back after the way they treated Andersen a couple of years back... salty
Looks like a good suggestion, but Holder wont get a nomination. Harris will get one instead. You could well be right, nominations for Nicholls, Lindgren, Emil and Harris would leave us with... 3 Danes 4 Poles 2 Aussies 2 Swedes 2 Brits 1 American 1 Russian. Having said that I think it would be utterly unfair for Harris to get a nomination over any rider who finished ahead of him this season. scotty2hotty
I kno biased, but who else is there who is good enough. He only finished 3 points off 8th place and gives us far more entertainment than any of the other Brits.
bruno
got to be nicholls.much more entertaining than rune or the rest .
Reviresco
IMO, there will be one GB rider in SGP09 and that therefore will be Nicholls, despite never winning a GP and having gating, cornering, engine speed, team back-up and attitude problems. Lindgren, because there will be 2 Swedes, he won a GP in 08 and missed a GP this season. The others? Hampel should be, but didn't qualify and won't get in due to there being 4 Polish licensed riders already in in 09. Safjutdinov? Probably and hopefully. Holder would be an intersting addition and may just get in if Oz does hold an 09 GP (which I doubt due to the economics of it - unless it is scheduled 1st). MARK246
He is the best rider outside of the top 8 not there. And a hell of a lot better than watching Walasek and Ulamek If that was true he should try to qualify. Would of made the top three then IMO Dryml is more value.
LisaColette
So Scott is officially out of the top 8, despite trying hard tonight. Will he get a nomination? Yep, especially as he was so close to the top 8 and with bomber struggling, i would be surprised if he didn't. He only finished 3 points off 8th place and gives us far more entertainment than any of the other Brits. To be fair to Nicholls, he is a great fighter who made his best to entertain us. I have seen him more than once fighting like its a matter of life and death. His fighting spirit might not give a place among the top-8 but atleast it should give him a nomination for next season. If he hadnt been such a lousy starter he would have been top-8 but his head and his starts, that is his worst enemies. SInce the GP started its always been atleast two brits in the GP and even if BSI probably is pretty tired of giving the brits nominations, they realise the value of having two of them in the Grand Prix.
