Bobbin' Along
BSI knew what they were doing, a massive crowd to cheer a banker home win, 95% of people who know speedway knew the result before the start! Sadly in doing so they killed speedway!!!!!!!!!!!! I for one will not attend another meeting that BSI make money from, well done 44 years of dedication to the sport down the pan!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't think you can blame BSI for single handedly "killing speedway" I think the BSPA and the stupid rule book have at least part of the blame. I think it's very sad that after a superb meeting (best racing I've seen all year in the GPs IMHO) you choose to see it as 44 years of dedication "down the pan". I didn't like the idea of the GP going to Bydgwhatnot, but the racing was better than we saw at Gelsenwhatsit last year.
Paulco
But i see in your "tracks visited" Cardiff is listed whereas Bydgoszcz isn't I was bad enough on the Vodka in Cardiff this year , without going to flaming Poland
Humphrey Appleby
Are we suggesting that the 4 riders agreed to split the SuperGP pot I haven't a clue and neither do I much care, as I find it ridiculous that a rider can win as much prize money in a one-off race as from winning all eleven GPs over a whole season. All I'm saying is that Pedersen didn't look that bothered at 'missing out' on the jackpot through a tapes exclusion. rabbit
Well Pedersen didn't seem too bothered about touching the tapes. Well I'd not be too bothered either at pocketing $15k for getting into a race by default and then not having to turn a wheel in it. Leaving aside all the politics about the farce that was the GP last week, I'd say a big well done to Glob for his win and overall 3rd place - he really is awesome to watch and long may it continue. Not his fault that the circus came to town on a track he does well at really. The battle for the final rostrum position and 8th place kept the meeting entertaining. Was just pleased he took bronze off the cheesy grin's hands - now he's got them free to hold onto those damned Monster bottles. Less said about AJs move the better...he seems to be turning into a bit of a spoilt brat these days, which is a shame as on his day he's a cracking rider to watch. Not saying his move on Freddie was deliberate, but certainly reckless and I felt for Lindgren who was so close to that final after what must be a disappointing season for him. As for my favourite Bjarne - 8th vanished as soon as Germany did. He had a hope against a lesser Holta on a temporary track; on the bigger circuit not a hope. Still, hopefully the GPs loss is Poole's gain in 2009. Edited October 18, 2008 by rabbit

Bobbin' Although we like to blame the BSPA for most things speedway related, I think you'll find that it is the FIM who are responsible for the stoopid rule book. And if I can paraphrase Middlo (Sky Sports) "thank you God for intervening in the track preparation". Best racing this GP season TST

Agree 100% about the prize money and it was the lure of that and that alone which tempted Andreas Jonsson to attempt an outrageous and frankly dangerous pass on Freddie Lindgren. At the end of the day AJ had the chance of £70k all resting on a sh*t or bust dnagerous move For goodness sake take away these obscene amounts of money, this sport is dangerous and the lure of £70k makes riders do stupid things
Trackman
Some say...... you have to be a bit stupid, to be in speedway in the first place... Regards. PS. Bit of WWF would be good... colincooke
Just 1 question about the super-prix final. Why was Nicki in it when Hans was 2nd in the grand final? It was stated prior to the race & i couldn't believe what was being said. Not right imo. Going onto AJ, he was having a go at Scott for making a move on him & then goes & does exactly the same, twice, he got away with it when he passed Jason. I see folk have been making comments about splitting the super prix money equally. Well i have to say that after Nicki touched the tapes the other 3 we're seen at the pit gate nodding to each other, why was that? Probably very innocent , just an honest question. Probably because that was the rules, set in place before the season started, why on earth would it be Hans Andersen anyway, why not the second place finisher in PARKEN, Gollobs other win. It may not be right in your opinion, but like most of your opinions they are worth jack s@/t, mostly made up on the hoof and as changeable as the weather
Seb the Snail
Not much to add. The whole meeting and subsequent "Not So" Super Prix were predictable in the extreme. You can't help but admire Gollob, but the final Championship standings and record purse were altered dramatically by last week's fiasco. Totally wrong in every way, and I don't blame Greg one bit if he came out and said so. Apart from that, good to see Rune claim 8th. Snails like Rune. And as for AJ's move! All I can say is that I thought it was Kozza Smith on his bike for a minute! Quite how some posters are trying to defend it astounds me. Very sad for Lindgren whose season had been on a real downward spiral until last night. At least he got back on his feet. Leigh, for the umpteenth time in the GP this year, was just Leigh. Seemingly untroubled until push comes to shove, at which point he fluffs the start and just pootles around at the back, packs up his kit and goes home. Peter
It was embarrassing watching Tomasz Gollob being presented with that yellow Super Prix trophy when we all knew he was going to go in blue. What a great idea that was!

wjm
AJ showed again with his antics in heats 20 & 22 that Gollob should not have been blamed at all for Jonsson's crash in heat 19 in Gothenburg. What a load of non sense that is.

Mama
According to the Super Prix rules - if one rider win more than one GP from "Super Prix series" than the place in the final heat goes to the best rider in the final GP classification. And that's why (and only that!) Nicki tried to start in yellow helmet. Edited October 19, 2008 by Mama
Jeff.
Now i see it for myself, Nicki was 2nd in Parken & that's the rules. Hey-ho. No the rules, decided before the season were that in the event of an already qualified rider gaining a second qualification then that place would go to the highest ranked GP rider not currently with a super prix place. I was highlighting the fact that you thought Andersen was more worthy with second place last night than would have been the second place rider in PARKEN. both were second to Gollob in a super prix final.
