racers and royals
a friend of mine was talking to Colin Meredith at Peterboro last night and Colin said that if he had been asked-early enough-he could have got his drying machine to gelsenkirchen and saved the meeting. As the BSI people were at Coventry for the world team cup round,i would have thought they would have seen it as i believe it is stored there. Does it actually work ? It was supposed to be at every televised EL meeting this year but I am sure some have been rained off.

Unless it was April 1st when sky showed it in use at swindon-it certainly worked there
Rob B
Don't think it would have worked as it wasn't the top surface that was wet from rain it was whe whole base of the track that was wet from using wet shale to build it. Humphrey Appleby
Colin said that if he had been asked-early enough-he could have got his drying machine to gelsenkirchen and saved the meeting But it's a bit 'if' isn't it? How much notice did the organisers have, and how quickly could the machine be shipped out there?

Im not so sure-didnt olsen say they had considered using a machine but is was too heavy-merediths surely is much lighter in weight
iris123
But it's a bit 'if' isn't it? How much notice did the organisers have, and how quickly could the machine be shipped out there? Don't know anything about this thing. But,it was mentioned before that even the tractors were cutting the track up a bit.And the organisers were offered a machine that would dry the track out.The thing was it was just too heavy and would damage the track just as much as the moisture content was playing havoc with it.The stuff should have been dried out before being put down.Once it was down i don't think there was an awful lot that could have been done. From PC to KC.
Maybe they should have given each rider a pedalo and a set of armbands and just got on with it.
