Are you hibernating?

What about the End of an Era meeting at Reading....or the New Year Classic at Newport?

If you're REALLY desperate there's always the Ice meeting at Telford!! ;)

or.... Len could have got the Rockets and Cobra's together split them into 2 teams and had a challenge match this week.

Then the Ace of Hearts could have stayed on it's original date.... just a thought

I have a feeling that he may well do that on the 25th now Boss man - with his fireworks extravaganza!

Depending upon the Ace being staged on Saturday!

I'm Going (depending upon offical confirmation of line up!)

1st Woffy

2nd Olly Allen

3rd Danny King

4th Tommy Allen

Ulrich Ostergaard has been invited. If he excepts, expect to see him up there on the rostrum.

Well, I am still really pissed off....I hope it pours down with rain all day Saturday!:angry::angry:

I wouldn't mind if it was a rain-off. that can't be helped. But to change it just because they have a free Saturday is a right pain in the a**e tbh.....

Silly Person

Sounds a good idea, but its the CL 4's on Saturday night and we have to put a team out for that.

It could still be done on the 25th though.

Rockets 1.Tai 2.Aldridge 3.Mear 4.Strudwick 5.Bowen 6.Day 7.Franklin

Cobras 1.Neath 2.Smith 3.Allen 4.Robbo(if available) 5.Halsey 6.Nick Laurence (or Andrew Silver! had a few laps Sat and Sun, didnt look too shabby) 7.Cottham. Would make a fun, close meeting to wrap up the season and including Robbo and Silver would also be a draw for fan i'm sure. Would also be a good chance for the Confence boys to measure up to the premier league lads.

Tbh with the Ace of Herts being on the 18th i am disappointed as 1. I can't make it as i am going to a party. 2.We will STILL have a free weekend where we could have some form of meeting on the 25th. and 3. The Cobras would have a strong chance of winning the 4's with Mear and Halsey included in the side along with Aldridge (Stoke track should suit him) and Smith.

I will hopefully be going to the Pairs at Peterborough on the 24th now to see Robbo in action, for my 1st visit to the Showground and my last taste of action in 2008.

Sorry but don't see the point of this meeting, Rye V Cobras even if the 2 sides are mixed up, we should be seeing Rye V whoever in the KO Cup Final if Len had got his act together and we'd had a decent guest, but that's upto Len and our season is now over and we look to 2009, with the same old boring intro music, a parade with 2 track graders Len and the starting marshal and the same old riders that Len won't let go to better their careers

This Saturday at Rye: Ace of Herts Finale

Following the original announcement during Saturday’s match against King’s Lynn, the Rye House promotion has reviewed its options in terms of suitable opposition and decided NOT to schedule a meeting at Hoddesdon on October 25th. This Saturday’s (October 18th) Ace of Herts individual championship will therefore be the club’s 2008 season finale.

Tommy Allen will defend the title he won last year in the big individual season regular at Rye House. The Tommy Gun will face stiff opposition from the rest of the Silver Ski Rockets, while the twelve man field will also include Elite League Coventry star and international Lion Olli Allen and Stuart Robson, who has followed up his racing comeback in the Chris Neath Testimonial meeting by posting two race wins and eight points in Saturday’s Neil Collins Farewell at Stoke. Invitations have also gone out to, amongst others, former Rocket Danny King and Reading’s Ulrich Ostergaard, who is 3rd in this year’s national Premier League averages.

The racing will be followed by a 20 minute long giant firework display, which has become a part of the end-of-season tradition at Rye. The 2008 Mr Rocket and Mr Cobra awards will also be presented in the bar afterwards, as the team members say their farewells to the campaign.

from Rye House official site!

This line up is not going to get the punters falling over themselves to attend. Unfortunately, it now has to compete with the GP on TV, and so many will choose that instead. I expect the kids will get in free of charge. They usully do for this meet. It might get more in, if they reduced admission by a few quid, but as its Len we are talking about, forget that.

Hmm! This event used to be a good quality field and over the last few years it appears to be dying.

It is now just slung together at the last minute with anybody that is available.

Not sure I’ll bother going.

Well, it looks like I won't be missing much after all then ! :approve::lol:
