scottymelloty
from a new article on the official venue site posted in alst day or so i would think Similarly positive about the VELTINS Arena expresses Paul Bellamy, Managing Director of BSI Speedway Ltd: "We have no stadium can find more attractive than the arena." They lie at the heart of a vast catchment area, and offer a professional and modern infrastructure. "Moreover, it has a roof that can open and close them. To make us regardless of the weather. That is when Speedway always an issue. To the Grand Prix of Germany to make a success, we could not risk that Rain us in the parade travels and even in the worst case, the train makes impassable. " so they say the stadium they have means it never has to be called off because of bad weather , yet a day later it is called off because of bad weather Edited October 11, 2008 by scottymelloty

B52
Total f**king joke! 2 of us in Dortmund at the moment and have been since Wednesday - blazing sunshine everyday - 30kms from track. Plan was to buy tickets when we got to the stadium as we wanted to be beside the poles in the stading arena. The upshot of this is no tickets to even get their compensation of a free ticket to an event next year. This is our 5th GP of the year and supposed to be the climax of a great year. Gutted. T.N.T.
Lets hope the FIM learn from this and stage them more at proper tracks. Cardiff is an exemption to the rule as the racing has been good, but there are enough top class race tracks around Europe to hold these meetings even if it means two in Poland, two in Sweden, two in Britain and the rest in Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy etc Bet Gollob is counting that big race pay out now its at Biddy
Blazeaway
AJ and Bomber set to miss Craven Shield final at Cov next Friday one would presume.
Jacques
Disgusting to let this happen, our mates are there routing for AJ who is ill now anyway ! So lets hope AJ is better soon. Its Lakesides dinner and dance next week so we wont see AJ there now eh I'd be more concerned about whats going to happen to the CS final meetings that are due to be held next Thursday and Friday!! With Hans, Bomber and AJ riding in the GP, what will Lakeside and Coventry do now?? After the poor organisation last year I swore I'd never go back to Gelsenkirchen....didn't quite expect this though...absolute disgrace!!! I feel so sorry for the people that have wasted money to get out there

Hackett
Only speedway could have an indoor meeting cancelled due to waterlogged track. Seems strange they dont work on track all night then race tomorrow as everybody will be there. Could nicki still be injured ? That would pee on the img fireworks. Strange to load the cards in gollobs favour . . Does smolenski get wild card or will saufutinov get a go on his home track . . Whatever situation is farce. Showpiece and finale made into a mockery
lucifer sam
AJ and Bomber set to miss Craven Shield final at Cov next Friday one would presume. I would imagine that practice next Friday will not be compulsory, so that the riders could follow the example of Todd Wiltshire in 2003, who rode for Oxford on the Friday and then rode in the re-staged event at Ullevi on the Saturday. All the best Rob

Debbi
Well all I can say is I am extremely p****d off. Sitting in Koblenz with the sun shining to be told that the shale has been shipped from Denmark where it has been raining so the shale was soaked before it even got to Germany. We have paid a large amount of money to attend the GP and all IMG are going to do is refund the ticket and give a free ticket to any of next years GP. How much faith do they expect us to have after this ruddy farce, and what about the cost of travel, in the current economical environment it is harder to justify the trip! Unbelievable surely a head should roll for this namely the idiot in charge of track preperations! Edited October 11, 2008 by Debbi

I feel so sorry for the people that have wasted money to get out there My thought exactly Jacques. Surely now this fixture should be on the 24th. Feel sorry for all of you out there, & if the rumour is true about Bydgoszcz hotels being fully booked you have to beg the question. I did hear the other day that ticket sales we're poor. It's a disgraceful situation & once again makes the sport we love a laughing stock. SACK OLSEN NOW!!!!!.
BILKO
Have just had a text from Germany. Shale was brought from Denmark on a Barge to Germany and was caught in the rain. The track was laid with the wet shale but would or could not dry out.
sheffieldscot
There can only be one outcome here, sack the race director!!!!! Loads of fans wasted hard earned cash to have their GP called off in an indoor arena. Whatever next. This is absolutely diabolical!

beesboybert
Farcical! The cynic in me half expects Gollob to be retiring and it to be his last G.P hence the move to Bydgoszcz.
